Re: Ebor miniatures new charging Horse

Interesting post Arthur. The figures do have the sword hanging from the waist belt as per the change mentioned in the link. The other cross belt is used for the cartridge box, looking at the illustration in the other post, I can't see this so did French cavalry not have a cartridge box or was it car...

Re: Ebor miniatures new charging Horse

Arthur, would be interested to know what the correct arrangement of the crossbelts for the French would be. I was going by the fact that the figures have a cockade on the hat, a waist belt for the sword and crossbelts for the carbine and cartridge box. I thought that was correct for French cavalry. ...

Re: Generic WSS "Armies"

Instead of the Austrians, I would go for the Dutch. They were the most numerous contingent in the armies in Flanders as well as a part of the armies in Germany and Spain. As for the other continental contingent, how about the Prussians or Danes? Another option to go with the French would be the Span...

Re: Ebor miniatures new charging Horse

I think they are suitable for French and Spanish horse by the look of it but am sure they could be used for other nations also.

Re: 1672 figures- a question of fashion

Chas,
Don't tell anyone but I use some of them for the WSS because I like the figures!

I think a lot of them can be used for the later period but would avoid the ones with the cuffs half way up their arms.
Best wishes,
Simon

Re: Some new Ebor WSS greens by Paul Hicks

These look very nice, particularly like the facial expressions.

Wouldn't the cavalry figures be suitable for French horse as they look like they are wearing a waist belt for the sword and the other straps look like the ones on the Front Rank French horseman?
Best wishes,
Simon

Re: Question about Danish cuirassiers in the WSS

Many thanks for your replies. I'm mainly interested in the early part of the WSS so it looks like no cuirass for the Danes,
Best wishes,
Simon

Question about Danish cuirassiers in the WSS

Gentlemen,
I've got a query about Danish cuirassiers in the WSS. Did they wear the cuirass over their coats or underneath it? I've done a quick look at the books I've got but have found contradictory opinions,
Many thanks in advance for any answers,
Best wishes,
Simon

Re: Strength of French Cavalry in the WSS

Gentlemen, The numbers I listed include the officers and NCO's, the original OOB listed them separately but I added them in. Ray, many thanks for your kind offer but I have got the OOB for Blenheim in the excellent little Marlborough goes to war book from the pike and shot society. The glanders outb...
