FIRM is ? an old scottish/gaelic word, a bit like been called a fifer :wink:

Thanks for the link Ray it has brought up a problem ? (3pdr long barrel) in Red (Dutch), where Dutch guns "RED" The information i have, said they are blue ? Which is correct ? since i have not finished painting the artillery guns The correct information would be great Don't wan't to give Dave Knight...

1704 Battalion guns uniforms?

Hi :) Was the Battalion guns crew by Artillery men in Artillery uniforms or of the colours of the regiment uniform ? From my books Dutch Drummers Frequently wore reverse coat and lining colours in 1704, is this correct ? which regiments did not follow this rule? Did this rule cover the nine year war...

Are they in red coats (or Blue)with Gold trimming as the English Generals?
What colour was there horse equipment etc?

Hi jezamonos officers wore a broad orange sash over the right shoulder hanging in a knot on or below the left hip. Their coats, cuffs, pockets and hats were laced with gold or silver.
