Re: Stripping Paint From Miniatures

Simple Green is amazing stuff and I give it my highest recommendation. I soaked some figures in it overnight and 90% plus paint fell off and the remainder was easily cleaned off with a tooth brush. And it is not toxic.

Re: About to be sued by Barry

I like your Russians.

Maybe try a two-color white paint combination instead of three. I use a light grey shade and then just a basic white overlay color.

I notice that there are two different styles of wheels too.

Re: GNW Russian range.

A mounted Swedish infantry officer would come in handy, or could one figure do double duty as a cavalry and infantry officer.

And you have to do Charles XII and Peter I personality figures... :P

Re: Need your vote on Osprey GNW book!

Apparently there are around 16,000 votes in the poll so far ( knock me over with a feather on those numbers  ) so even if we gained 200-300 more votes, it probably wouldn't move the dial very much. However, keep voting to show Osprey that we have core numbers that could support the title down...

Need your vote on Osprey GNW book!

Apparently Osprey Publishing is holding a vote on the title and subject of a new book for their Men At Arms series: "The Swedish Army in the Great Northern War". That is terrific news for those who are interested in the period, and with a flood of 28mm figures for the GNW slated to hit the market in...

Re: "A Military Gentleman"

I like the book so much that I bought 2 copies. One to peruse frequently, the other to keep in storage for the future.

Re: Historicon 2013 ALL CHANGE!

I recently made my reservations to attend Historicon as a dealer (Fife & Drum Miniatures) but I waited too long to book a hotel, so I'm about 5-10 miles away, alas. I will also try to run at least one AWI game, but doing that and running a dealer booth is a bit of a problem as I am a one-man operati...

Re: Front rank and elite or foundry?

It would seem that FR has enough variety of poses within its range to meet your needs. I use a variety of figure ranges but I don't mix different brands in one battalion unless one brand is missing basic command figures. Most of my figures are Elite Miniatures, but I also use Connoisseur in their ow...

Re: Some words to Cannons of the 17th-18th Century

I'd encourage everyone to take a look at the artillery schematic diagrams that Christian Rogge has been working on. While his focus is on the mid 18th Century, he often starts with earlier cannon from the WSS period.

Ouch! There's a hook in my mouth. No use fighting it, so I'M IN!

So someone tell me what I need to do to commit some funds to this project. 8)
