Re: Dutch Inf Uniform WSS oops.

Gentlemen Many thanks to all of you. I checked out the website suggested by Mats. This was the one I found the uniform info on several years ago then forgot about it. So thank you Mats. So off to find the right flags (i need two) and another regiment enters my United Provinces army. Regards Paul

Dutch Inf Uniform WSS oops.

Gents Need a bit of help please. First of all way back when I started my project with my old group Leighton Buzzard and due to lack of information at that time, I painted what I thought was an accurate depiction of a Dutch unit. I painted as follows. Coat, light grey, cuffs rose pink (I know, I know...

Re: Blenheim OOB

Thanks Turrabear I must have used the Golberg disc, as I have this as a reference (forgotten about this disc) thanks for the info. I noted elsewhere there is going to be a Robert Hall disc updating the info on the Dutch so hopefully there will be more plates etc, I was not overly keen on the Golberg...

Re: Blenheim OOB

So Oxenstierna's regt was at Ramilies, thats good because I painted a btn of these a while ago. However at that time I had no uniform details and went for blue coats, yellow facings, stockings and breeches at that time they seemed to fit the bill. So I may change the facings etc, but gents ehat colo...

Re: Danish Grenadierkorp

I am using Front Rank Dutch grenadiers. I know they are not correct, what with them not having double rows of buttons etc, but they do the job for me. Plus they look nice. The grenadier front plate is flat so there is no raised detail to paint, that's easier for my paint skills. Plate is blue as per...

Danish Grenadierkorp

Hi Gents After a long time away from this period, ( breeding Alpacas) I have decided to pick up my brushes again and complete my WSS project. Having now chosen to increase my infantry units sizing from 12 to 16 figures, I have painted firstly a brand new unit namely the Danish grenadier korpset. Now...

ULB classifications

Gents Playing with my new French WSS army now. Two games so far, finding it very difficult to win cavalry clashes against super allies, ie kills on 5 and 6, allies 4,5 and 6, any hints? Also Guard Francais, should they only be classed as Guard when in combat when charging a disordered Allied unit of...

Dutch and Danish colours

Hi Ray Sorry for the delay in replying, I work away from home during most of the wwek and do not take my laptop as I am not able to receive e mail. So apologies over. I thank you for your input on British flags. I would not have any problem with your suggestion of placing the crests in the centres o...

Dutch and Danish colours

Dan I think I will stick to the suggestions you make. White for the colonels flags colours for the others, they will look good within the units this way. I used the green flagfor my Prince George without realising it was only the company flag, so I will produce a white one now based on your informat...

Dutch and Danish colours

Hi Dan Many thanks for your reply. Most imformative, so all colonels colours would be white with various other colours for the companies with the same motifs? I have the second Acedia book you refer to but missed the point you refer to. It is a very good book. I have some of the Robert Hall plates f...

Dutch and Danish colours

Gents, I wonder if anyone has information on the following. Although I have commercial flag images for one colour per batallion I find that it would look better if I was able to display two colours per infantry unit. So my enquiry is, the Danes carried I believe a soveriegns colour or colonels colou...
