Re: Announcement from The Cantinierre

Little bother Jack arrived yesterday afternoon, eleven days late and eleven days late for the LoGW weekend. He’s cute but he needn’t think he’s going to get all of the attention at the next meeting. Granddad is chuffed but I’ll be playing with granddad’s toy soldiers long before Jack and just watch...

Can I just add my words of thanks to Barry for organising 2 fab games. The table for the Sunday game was just immense and so thanks to everyone who brought their gear and scenery to the table (thanks to Martin Terroni for the use of his fab pieces). And of course thanks to all who took part - it was...

Ok just spoken to Dale - he says he doesn't have many WW2 style buildings - shock horror I know - he has the buildings already mentioned and 2/ 3 churches. He does have the Hougoumont Chateau and surrounding buildings if you wanted a large mansion type building in the middle of the City. Railway tra...

OK... WE'RE COOKING NOW. IF WE CAN RAISE 19 EXTRA BUILDINGS BETWEEN COLIN, DAVE & DALE WE'LL HAVE A 14 X 6 CITY SCAPE! I'll give Dale a call but in our recent 28 mm games he's usually able to bring about 8-10 European style buildings to the table. He may have more - I'll post back here once i've sp...

Angus, As Dale is computer illiterate he has asked me to post this message to the Maplaquet forum: - "Happy to join in with this one lads. I publicly confess – I HAVE NO FIGURES FOR THIS PERIOD – IN ANY SCALE, SHAPE OR FORM. I didn’t even know it was a period until the Brigadier sat on me and forced...

Barry, Dale asked me to post this message regarding the troops he has available for the March game: - "I have the following 28mm items to throw into the melting pot – not literally! German 80 Assorted figures 25 Fallschirmjager 5 Pz. IV Tiger 4 Pz. V Panther 8 Panzer IV (5 more underway) 2 Brummbar ...

Angus,

If places available can you count me in?

I'm figureless, ruleless (I promise to get a set of the rules in due course, Barry!) and some might say clueless but more than happy to fight the cause for Queen Anne.

I do have buildings that would suit the period if required.

Cheers

I understand from Dale that the Airlie will not be open at all for any business until the middle of April so no joy with meals or accommodation. I think Dale will check out the availability of B & B's in Kirrie for those travelling from afar. As mentioned in previous post I have a spare room and wou...

Gentlemen, Spoke to Dale just now. He is awaiting final confirmation that the Airlie will be open for bookings in March. He expects to hear for definite by the end of January and has promised to e-mail you all with confirmation. If the Airlie is not available then the Guide Hall has been provisional...

Sorry lads - I definitely can't make that week end - once again the "social" calendar has over ruled any gaming pleasures. Dale asked me to confirm availability for games in 2008 - well as it stands I'm clear for March although any game in mid June is likely to clash with son's birthday so would be ...

Can I just add my thanks to all the lads who made me feel most welcome on Friday and Saturday. I'm just sorry I wasn't able to be there on Sunday to see the French victory come to fruition. It was great to be part of such a large, visually stunning and impressive wargame. The standard of painting on...
