white pumice

I'm redoing my bases to add mud effect with white pumice. Previously I just used flock and stones, but seeing some fantastic bases with, presumably, pumice used inspired me to experiment. Thus far I've been using my scalpel edge but cant help feeling there's something better out there. This is for 1...

Re: scottish clans 1690s

Hang on Dave- Prince Charlie was not born in Britain through no fault of his own. I'm touchy on this as I was also born in exile through my dad's meanderings.
Be kind to us half breeds!

Re: scottish clans 1690s

They were Poles, Dave. They claimed to be Prince Charlie's grandchildren, I think. But the salient point is that they invented modern tartan for our tourist industry!

Re: using pioneers v BUAs

Thanks for your replies both. Do you just produce the unit at the point of assault then, rather than have them walk forward with the ordinary units?

using pioneers v BUAs

I understand that pioneers are organised in 6s as per infantry bases with 1 per army.
Are they treated as part of a specific regiment, with that regiment having reduced musketry in a fire fight, or are they a separate unit in themselves and thus need activated like other units?

Re: more BUAs

The perimeter wasn't intact so I didn't count the modifier for the bua type. [/ i] How was the perimeter not intact? that can only happen if the enemy have already penetrated by winning a round of combat. See bottom of page 63 Yep- clearly misunderstood that. But you ae saying that we broadl...

Re: more BUAs

Thanks for the reply, Dave. The perimeter wasn't intact so I didn't count the modifier for the bua type. But you ae saying that we broadly got it right, aren't you? That these modifiers are extra or fewer dice rather than modifiers to a die roll? My next question is about the morale check. Does the ...

more BUAs

Malcolm was defending a BUA last night with 3 units, 2 drilled foot and 1 raw artillery. I assaulted with 1 elite foot, 1 drilled foot and 1 drilled dragoon. Another foot regiment failed to assault. As we understand it we treat all defenders as a single entity and the attackers are treated the same ...

Re: count schombergs forces at the boyne

Lenihan say Eppingers Dutch dragoons were in the 5am group, along with Trelawneys foot brigade. There were 5 small guns too. Not sure which regts were in that " brigade", though. Around 9am Douglas set off with another 12 thousand men. Lenihan says they came from what had been the front line, mostly...

Re: BUAs

OK, thanks both. I understand and don't want to be a-historical.

But- suppose the defenders fire on them, wouldn't they return fire?
