Irregular troops and disorder

Hi, we re-fought the battle of killiekrankie the other night, Bonnie Dundee ran right over the top of Mackay, because on page 25 there is a description of "tribal troop types" we assumed that from this section as tribal troops are disordered it would be impossible for them to become disordered, this...

Turkish army (where to start)

Hi, we had a great game re-fighting Kalisz this afternoon, so much so that one of the newer members of the group wants to start a Turkish army (should it be Ottoman, before I upset the purists). He asked if I knew where to start, I was honest and said no but knew where - would ask. So the question i...

Basing Dane's

Hi, would Dane's be based like swedes or more like Western forces. Ie. would they have pike in the center stand and have the Swede rules or are they more like German states. Also would you recommend them as platoon or rank firers?

thanks

Re: smaller german states (ratings)

hi while i agree with some of that if there was no debate nor discussion new players wouldnt learn half as much, still interested in oppinions on the three or four questions i have posted as "I" dont know and would like to game as close to historically correct as possible. which was the basis from w...

Re: smaller german states (ratings)

ok i'll bite, i assume from that that there is a cut off point where the pike was common and theafter fell away, i understand that even with nations that disgarded the pike such as UP there wer units so equiped as late as '18. so from that assumption rank to platoon fire would be the same? cheers ag...

smaller german states (ratings)

Hi, at present i am painting up a mix bag of troops to suppliment larger forces, so far i have painted up swabians and wurzburgers but have no idea how to rate this fairly. I dont think they were that "good" overall but i am finding it difficult to really nail this down, as they as far as i can tell...

regiments of more than one squadron

Hi, played our first game last night, and it went quite well, we did however disagree on how many orders it take to make a multi squadron unit move, charge etc. Does it take one to move all three squadrons or does it require one, on a similar vain does it count as one unit for the purposes of order ...

Re: eastern cavalry

Hi, this is yet another 10mm project, I am trying to work out how to carry of the "swarm" notion if the bases are the same size, eastern to western, what i might do is place the 6 figs on one base allowing a more chaotic look. I have no problem with the hussars, and "professional" units based as wes...
