Spring 2019 weekender

Hi Bob,

If you are planning a Spring LoA weekender - could you avoid 22-24 and 29-31 March 2019. I know these are 'booked up' already with those who must be obeyed...!

Many thanks

Peter

Re: AUTUMN WEEKENDER

With much regret the Earl Of Marlborough has been detained abroad on diplomatic matters and cannot now make Dumfries in October. Thomas Tollemache the Williamite is also unable to attend. Many apologies to all colleagues and combatants.

The Dutch in the Medway - June 1667

Great exhibition at Upnor Castle with a scale model, full size posters and history descriptions and great views from the roof and bastion of the Medway and the route the Dutch came... if you get a chance, well worth a visit.

Re: AUTUMN WEEKENDER

The Earl of Marlborough and his scalliwag Dutch 'cousin' Paul Allen are booked in for the 13-15th October - and look forward to renewing hostilities and alliances and treacheries...!

Re: I am wetting my pants.. Texel!

What a great find! I want to go there immediately! It is a timely reminder of how important ships and the marine were in our period for transport of men materials, supplies. Our 17th century world revolved around shipping. In fact you couldn't really get anywhere without it. Trade and War depended o...

Re: Spring Weekender 2017

Sadly the Duke of Marlborough and Thomas Tollemache are unable to make the journey north. Marlborough is detained if not incarcerated in the Tower... but hopes to be at the Hamburg Tactica event recruiting more German forces for his Allied command...
Look forward to many pictures of the weekend...

Re: Autumn 2016 - Weekender

Sounds a great scenario Barry. My Irish roots lead me to favour the Jacobite side but my admiration for 'Milord Duke' means that if he is represented on the table in any form, I would happily play that role...
Your choice. It will be a fantastic weekend no matter what... Peter

Thought it was worth taking a step back and acknowledging and thanking Barry and Clarence for the great scholarship, effort and creativity that these uniform guides represent. To have the results of much research with difficult and conflicting sources presented to us in this clear and inspiring form...
