Question about close combat results

Hi, we had a situation in a game last week that had not happened before and wondered if anyone else has come across the result? Two Cavalry squadrons charged each other with a win for the Imperials and a loss for the French  but the French passed morale :D . Each side then reinforced with a fre...

Re: Sheffield Triples show - the battle of Almansa 1707

Fortunate enough to see the game yesterday and I must say it looked spectacular.

Congratulations to all those involved for a great looking demo game.

Re-fight of Oudenarde

At the beginning of April I posted that myself and a few fellow masochists were planning to refight Oudenarde at the Wargames Holiday Centre near Basingstoke. Well the refight was last weekend and here is a quick précis of the action with a few of the better pictures (really must learn how to better...

Apologies for Another Morale Question

Now that we are doing the morale checks correctly (at the end of the turn) a couple of questions came up. 1) A cavalry unit has taken fire and is marked to take a morale test, in the close combat phase it reinforces a melee with friendly horse, so takes a morale test and passes to join the combat, w...

Re: Oudenarde re-fight

Barry, thanks for the response. As for the percentages, the plot is for each of the players to roll for his sub commander with the option of using the CinC or Wing Commander ability if better than their own. The exception is Burgandy who will be controlling his forces and only use his own abilities....

Oudenarde re-fight

All, Myself and a number of friends are due to complete the re-fight Oudenarde at the wargames holiday centre in Basingstoke at the begining of May using BLB. OB's are sorted and everything is ready the only debate is what ability ratings should be assigned to the French Commanders. It has been agre...

Command Radius and Orders

Apologies again if this has been covered before but cannot see anything in the rules or on the forum. The basic point I am trying to clarify is does a unit have to be in the command radius of its brigadier to receive an order? It is just that we have had a couple of occasions when a cavalry unit win...

Re: Another Question about Dragoons

Thanks for the quick response - what I expected but fellow players, especially the commander of the British Dragoons where not happy about it!

Another Question about Dragoons

Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't find any reference while trawling through the topics. As clarified previously Dragoons test morale as Cavalry when mounted and Infantry when dismounted. However a situation cropped up in a game the other week which did prompt a debate. A 2 squad...
