Does it make any material difference to the game if cavalry and infantry have the same base frontage? I am planning on using 3cm bases for 15mm figures - 3 for foot and 2 for cavalry.

I noticed in the messages about flank attacks that units charged in the flank can only fire with one base. Am I right in thinking that units can normally only fire directly ahead? If so not sure about this.
I have recently got these rules and now look forward to playing some games in the period. My apologies if this question has come up before but I note that in the rules artillery fire at -1D6 if shaken but I can't see the same for foot or cavalry. I would assume that the same rule applies but interes...
