Re: How I paint horses

Please keep the tips coming as painting horses is a particular hate of mine. Which is a pain as I tend to favour eras with loads of cavalry.

Re: Progress or mountain...?

Hmm, I gave up trying to count my collection of unfinished projects long ago. It's simpler just to say, "I have some of those, and some of those, and some of those....." ad infinitum

Re: WSS - Austrians

Thanks Rohan, good to hear that the Maverick ones are the same as the ones that Dan showed me. As for the Ebor grenadiers, they were the ones that swung me. I'll check out the plate, as I'm now finding differences in coat colours, some say Bright Blue, some say Grey.

Re: WSS - Austrians

Thanks Dan :D
Now all I need is to track down a source for that flag.

Re: WSS - Austrians

Thanks Günter. If they are the same regiment who appear in CS Grant's 'The Armies and Uniforms of Marlborough's Wars' (Vol 1) Listed as being part of the Austrian army, then yes. If they are and the flags are the same, then that solves a lot of problems. :D

WSS - Austrians

I'm about to idulge in some of the impressive Ebor WSS Austrians. I intend to begin with the Brandenburg - Bayreuth regiment and would apreciate any information concerning the flags they may have carried. Apologies if this has already been covered, but I couldn't find any posts.

Flip top paints

Okay, probably a subject that has been addressed many times, and something that has probably produced more than a few swear words. But having almost torn off a thumb nail attempting to open a pot of Foundry paint recently, has anyone a sensible solution to stop the tops of these paint pots sticking ...

Well, I tried not to but...

Couldn't resist the Aventine phalanx figures. So had to begin yet another blog (one day I'll actually finish a project, I will....).

Thanks. Yeah, based for impetus. Havnt got the main rules, yet, but I do like the basing system. I kept seeing Aventine figures on other sites, and for a long time resisted the little voice in my head that kep urging me to try some. In the end the voice became too insistant to resist, and those are ...

Thanks. The colour used for the Buff Coat is Vallejo Stone Grey 70884 , while for Hopton's armour I used Foundry Charcoal Black 34B. The figures have been 'washed' with GW Devlan Mud and slightly highlighted with the original, or a slightly lightened shade. The picture isn't great, had my camera rep...
