Dixon Miniatures and Front Rank

Has anybody tried mixing Dixon Grand Alliance with Front Rank WSS?

Would they look good in the same unit or is the difference in size to much. Would they be ok on the same table top if Dixon was in all dixon units and Front Rank was in all the same unit.

Thamks,

Ed

Thanks Barry,

I see your point. Six man Sqn's have staying power on the table top. When I look at the Waflag example of a two man Sqn going up against a twelve man Battalion it doesn't look right.

cheers

Cavalry Sqn Size

A question reference the size of Cavalry Sqn's in ULB. In WSS rules used by Warflag in the states a infantry Battalion is 12 men and a cavalry sqn is 2 men. In ULB a Infantry Battalion is 18 men and a cavalry Sqn is 6 men. Mind you I like the 18 man bn (looks good on the table top) but does 6 men to...

The Period 1660 - 1721 Required/Recommended Reading

This is a great period and everybody knows the works of Chandler. What else is a good read for our period? Don't forget fiction; I remember in JR High the first book I read about the WSS and Marlborough. It was by Ronald Welch called "Captain of Dragoons". As you can see that is where I got my forum...

Horse Guards and Horse Grenadier Guards

Is it me or does anybody else fine early British lineage hard to follow. William III has Horse Guards which is 1 to 5 troops at times and Horse Grenadier Guards with 1 to 4 troops at times. This is what I have gathered from www.regiments.org To add to the confusion the 1st Regiment of Horse is also ...

Great website

I must say tha LOA is a excellent website. I'm new to wargaming getting a late start at 33 but have always enjoyed history/military history. The period I always wanted to war game was the Pike and Shot/ECW era. However I always enjoyed the early modern period of the WSS. I did not really know about ...
