Re: Mondays Game

Yes, for season 1812/13 blue was the preferred strip :)
Unfortunately so are the Portuguese and they haven't brought their away strip :)

Don't worry, I'll keep you right, especially if you're the opposition over the weekend :!:

Re: Mondays Game

Andy, judging by Barrys comments, you'll be French this weekend, so do you want a French brigade? Be warned the 118th, 119th, 120th and 122nd regiments de ligne are not the creme de la creme of the French army ;) Ray, the buildings are Grand Manner's Spanish Peninsula village, and mighty fine they a...

Mondays Game

Taking a few people new to R2E though a game tomorrow, and its also the first time I've set up all my toys on my own table. Game will be set around Clintons 6th Division advance at Salamanca against Bonnets division, which was Clausels last throw of the dice to salvage something. Los Arapiles from t...

Re: 2 Warfare Battalions...After

Very nice indeed. More like a diorama than a wargames unit.

Just one question, do they always count as being in cover? :)

Re: How people base their skirmishers

I have now started basing them on 2 to 40x20 base. My usual basing is 4 to a 40x40. I usually include at least 2 of these per battalion so the necessary combat groups can be removed and the appropriate number of skirmising bases can be deployed. My light battalions are all based that way too, so can...

Re: Going to Scotland... Help needed!

We just did the Jacobite express last weekend - from Fort William to Mallaig on the Harry Potter steam train (yes we took our 6 year old :) ). Was most picturesque, and you can sit back and enjoy the view as someone else is driving :) http://www.westcoastrailways.co.uk/ I'd recommend travelling firs...

Re: The Road to Perdition II

Welcome Back Jim :)

My own Napoleonics project has languished for the last 6 months, a mere 20 figures painted in that time. Finishing off my Saga warband and then its back to more naps methinks.

Re: October 2012 Derby Weekender (and 2013 Weekender 'ideas'

Adrian, To be honest if its just an email moderated campaign, with no table top action, then I dont see any problem, just so long as the deadlines for responses aren't too tight. And I guess come the weekender, you might be just a little less likely to thow your chaps into the meatgrinder if you've ...

Re: October 2012 Derby Weekender (and 2013 Weekender 'ideas'

Adrian, Regarding the campaign element, and also subbing in players for the 2nd weekend to pick up commands from the 1st: What if the command your being allocated is, how shall we say, less than optimal due to the decisions taken by someone else over the intervening 6/7 months? ie you reckon you'll ...

Re: smaller german states (ratings)

Even just using a regiments passed history to rate it is not always the best guide. If you look at the Royal Scots at Waterloo most gamers would at least rate them as drilled or vetern plus adding elite to their rating but the unit was actually the 5th battalion and basically called the 'boys batta...
