Re: Royal Swedish Cavalry Guard - Lund 1676

Lovely figures - lots of life and movement.

I would be interested to hear how you created the 'frozen' effect ? Just a very light drybrush ?

Re: Period Books - Google Books

Great find ! Although I don't read French very well, the book does include some interesting tabular information regarding deployment etc.

I've just finished Childs' history of the Nine Years War so this is very well timed.

Thank you,

Phil

PS. I wonder what other gems are lurking out there ?

Artillery Barrels

Hi chaps, I've just finished off a French artillery piece and thought you might be interested in seeing a pic : http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/xx254/glorfindel-666/Glory%20of%20the%20Sun/IMG_2540_zps2116ff92.jpg I am really pleased with the colour of the barrel. This was simply a white undercoat...

Re: Warfare make the cover of Miniature Wargames!

In a way, this cover had the same effect on me as the very first issue of Miniature Wargames (with, I think, some Gilder French Carabiniers). A real inspiration. The only down side - no related article with more pics !

Lovely figures and a cracking paint job.

Re: Trying Something Different (Orders and Guards)

Hi chaps, We recently played the 6mm GNW game using the suggested new rules for orders and for bringing on guards and they worked really well. Much to my surprise... Call the Guards ! This introdcuced a bit of competition between players on the same side and I was happy with the rules as they stand....

10mm League of Augsburg Eye Candy

Good evening ! I hope that this doesn't contravene any rules about showing other manufacturers. Anyway, I thought people might appreciate looking at some beautiful smaller scale LoA figures (this time from Pendraken) : http://www.pendrakenforum.co.uk/index.php/topic,7622.0.html The painting is spect...

Trying Something Different (Orders and Guards)

Hi chaps, Our gaming group is working up to one of our regular 'big games' next weekend and, as I am organising it, I thought I would try something a little different. The idea is to try out a couple of tweaks on top of the usual gaming rules - I thought you might be interested. Although the game it...

Re: My first mounted command figure painted

Hi, A very nice figure - well done. A very superior look on his face ! I've recently attempted the same figure and was interested to see where the sword ended up. Your placing is so much more natural - I had the sword flung out behind him (back across the saddle). Ho hum - you live and you learn. ht...

Re: Looking for insights/advice

I imagine that this set could represent either. Having just painted up a mounted command figure, however, I feel that you might not have enough space to fit them all on a Brigadier base. Two of the figures seem to fit naturally together (the mounted officer and courier giving message). The other off...
