Re: French Infantry Lineage

Hi chaps, Just a quick note to confirm that I have just finished work on the latest Regimental Lineage spreadsheet, this time looking at the armies of the British Isles, both in the separate English, Scottish and Irish Establishments and later as part of a British Army. The list is based on a slow (...

Re: Russian Army Great Northern War.....where to start?

Hi, I became interested in the Great Northern War just a few years ago and, as I didn't know much about the era, decided to use an historical Order of Battle as a basis for both the Swedes and Russians. After scouring the web, I found a site which gave Orbats for an important but mid-size battle (Ho...

Re: Kurland Regiments in Dutch Service

Wienand,

Very may thanks for posting the Dutch Regiments link - that is a superb resource. I've seen links to something similar before but the pages always seemed to be down.

Cheers,

Phil

Re: The raising of the Saxon Army 1699-1712

A wonderful collection - a real inspiration. I also followed the link on this thread to Steve Barber's website. Some fantastic scenic items here. It certainly feels as though the hobby has come a long way in the last few years in terms of availability of figures / terrain pieces and quality. A good ...

Re: The Other Partizan Show Report

Thanks for posting. I very much enjoyed the LoA pics - some spectacular terrain and figures. It was also great to see the North Star 1672 range being shown off. I am building a French army using this range and it is heartening to know that, although North Star have really moved into the skirmish mar...

Re: Klissow (1702) Refight

A very inspiring table - some superb figures and terrain work. This makes me want to look again at my 6mm GNW Swedish and Russian armies - all the infantry and artillery etc done - just have the Russian cavalry to go (but there's so much of it !). The Russian infantry is extremely colourful - white,...

Re: French Infantry Lineage

Bryce,

You're a star ! Great stuff - thank you. I used the same site for the rest of the spreadsheet so there are obviously multiple copies.

Now my sad little project is complete...and I'll have to leave the house and face the harsh daylight !

Thanks again

Re: French Infantry Lineage

Hi chaps, Further to the above, just thought I would let you know that I have now finished work on the French Cavalry and Maison du Roi Lineage listings. This is based mainly on Susane's 'Histoire de la Cavalerie Francaise' together with other work by Digby Smith. Please note that details on five of...

Re: French 1672 - First Figures

Hi chaps, Just a quick post to let you see a couple of Officers I've finished (for the Plessis-Praslin Regiment). I've tried to be clever and add a silver border to the shoulder belt - this was a right pain again but has turned out OK. I like this guy but could you take him seriously on the battlefi...

Re: French Infantry Regiment 'Plessis-Praslin'

Arthur, Very many thanks for the information above - this is really appreciated. For uniforms and colours, it seems as though there is no information either way so I will just stick with grey faced blue and the Poitou flag (particularly as i have recently bought this from Barry !) If I ever come acr...

Re: part 2 of my space hulk The Maintenance Room

This project is absolutely magnificent. Well done. I know I shouldn't but I can almost picture terminators rumbling around, gunning down the aliens. Or, better still, Ripley looking for that damned cat (would you really try to find a mog on a doomed spaceship, inhabited by a killer alien ?? Sod that...

1670s Era Buildings

Hi chaps, While waiting for the next installment of cash (to allow the purchase of more 1672 Frenchies), I was thinking of work on some linear terrain and buildings suitable for the French invasion of Holland. Can anyone recommend a good web-based tutorial or suggest some ideas ? I have previously h...
