When you refer to subscribers, does that refer to those of us with monthly subscriptions, or was it a special bit?

Re: Battle of Castiglione - 8th September 1706

Some Background: George Nafziger is a historian and wargaming enthusiast in Westchester, Ohio who has collected some of the largest collections of orders of battle in the world. Up to ~2010, he would sell them. As he got older and the equipment the orders of battle are stored on got older, he realiz...

Re: Battle of Castiglione - 8th September 1706

From the Nafziger Collection (file 706XAF), I was able to find an order of battle for French Forces Commanded by de Medavi, but I do not have a date on it, other than 1706: 1st Line: Brigade: Brigadier du Bosquet La Reine Cavalry Regiment (3 sqns) Verac Cavalry Regiment (2 sqns) Autichamp Cavalry Re...

Re: Wolseley’s Enniskillen Regiment

I think there is plenty of scope for ECW type non uniformed units but of course with the later 17th century dress. I just can't imagine that there was such a high degree of uniformity, cleaniliness and availability around at a time when soldiers were barely paid if at all, corruption was rampant am...

You do realize, since they have captured the liquor supplies, you have to come to terms, and quickly?

Generally, I like to focus on a battle or campaign, but would also consider a national army for smaller nations - particularly if the person making the request can provide or point me in the direction of references! How about this small nation/state? I have the references in hand; ARMY OF THE ELECT...

Re: Marlbourough's Trumpeter

I have noticed that, from manufacturer to manufacturer, there are different ways of sculpting lace and buttons. So it may not be a simplification as much as the determination by the sculptor that the lace would not be distinguishable from the coat on a 25mm figure. You can always paint it in if you ...

My understanding is just the opposite; that the Bardin uniform was introduced slowly and even in 1815 you had eople wearing the older kit.

Quite pretty. You've got a very vibrant color on several of the Catholic regiments - are they that bright in life, or is it a figment of the photography? They're very pretty!

Interchangibility of Perry and Victrix plastics

I'm contemplating purchasing a box of each and mixing things up to produce either Marie Louises for 1813-1814, or the mix of whatever was available issued to infantry for the 1815 campaign (as described by Elting). Ideally, I'd like to be able to have French infantry with both 1808 and 1812 regulati...

Re: WARFARE PRIVATE COMMISSIONS - WHAT INTERESTS YOU?

What about Spanish dragoons?

As far as I can tell, nobody makes the mitre helmet that Spanish Dragoons wore, except possibly Essex. That may be more of a need for the WSS in Spain, but they might also be needed for Grand Alliance battles in the Spanish Netherlands as well.
