Yes lads, TARGE has just come of age. You’ve all seen the plugs for TARGE in Wargames Soldiers and Strategy, Miniature Wargames (they got it right this month) and of course show sponsors Wargames Illustrated but how many of you have clocked the quarter column in White Dwarf? If you have then we’ll a...

Thanks Jack. I posted a lengthy reply yesterday but on the point of "submit" it disappeared into the ether. I have that effect on computers which is why I don't do it often. They go all aflutter when I come near them - a bit like women really - in my dreams. Anyway I took your advice with individual...

Just a bit of information which you might find useful. Brian Sweeney of Mutineer Miniatures hopes to have the first of his 28mm Indian Mutinty range available at TARGE 09 on Saturday 14th November. Some of you might even buy them and have them ready for the LoGW game in Stonehaven the following week...

Base sizes request

This is an appeal to any experienced wargamers out there. I am building up a couple of 28mm ancients armies assisted by Fernando Enterprises. To date phalangites are on 20 x 20 mm mostly multiples, hypaspists and peltasts on 25 x 25, skirmishers on 30 x 30 and companion and Thessalian cavalry on 25 ...

TARGE 09 14th November

You may have noticed that one of the major magazines printed the wrong date for TARGE 09. They have since been in touch apologising for the error and promising to print the correct date in next months mag which should be out in a couple of weeks. For the avoidance of doubt TARGE 09 is in Webster's H...

Signing in and confirming. Buildings discussed earlier making the journey but do you want a set of the Hovels flat roofed buildings too? Some poorly armed and probably poorly trained tribesmen underway. Will benefit from the Yacomine treatment in due course. Are figures to be singly based or on mult...

AIRLIE HOTEL announcement

The Airlie Hotel is open for business. Iv'e been shown the rooms and they are great and I'll check out the dining room with Shelagh next week.
One of the managers has indicated that bookings are being taken but the number may change in the next week. I'll post the number when they confirm.

What's all the fuss guys. Buy the mag or don't. In over 35 years of wargaming I've bought virtually every copy of all commercialy available wargames magazines. I've never had one yet where there was not something interesting that made the magazine worth the money. Just a very brief negative note. So...

Peter, I have a group of Indian buildings, a souk/bazaar, a tower, a larger building with an arched, arcaded walkway facade and a small outpost/district fort. I also have the Hovels range of buildings, about 8-10 of them. I should have completed 20+ tribesmen. They are very primitive with no firearm...

I'm happy with either ECW or SYW. I have no ECW but will paint some for what will be a new period for me. I have a growing collection of SYW figures which will be expanding over the course of the year. Others who have large armies include Charles, Bob, Angus and probably others that I don't know abo...

Barry, I just can't add anything to that last post  but Adrian, there are no obvious reasons for not having a kilt. You don't travel all the way from Grimsby as a token Englishman - you're an honorary Scot. Get youself a kilt and all those commanding Dutch troops can wear clogs! As Boufflers ...

We should easily be able to transport ourselves to Drumshademuir in four cars. Mine is available, only three to go. Jim at the restaraunt has indicated that we should let him know during Saturaday whether we want High Teas or full dinners. We can look at menus and discuss on Saturday. On Friday, for...
