Re: 28mm BRIDGE - from Adrian's Walls..........

That is a very nice bridge, has much more character than many I see on tables.

I liked the Crusades terrain I saw on youtube too!

Re: Books/internet links Duch Forces 1660-1721 uniforms and

Hi footslogger,

Volume 1 of the books on the Dutch army is available foe pre-order via the Pike & Shot Society website. I've already ordered it, I hated waiting, but I really do prefer books to electronic versions.

Re: Pikemen in battle

Hi gents. The French had a few different ways of using their pikemen. One in particular I can think of was a detachment on each flank and some formed in the centre. I'd need to look up Nosworthy's book for the others. I imagine other nations had similar tactical doctrines, it's been some time since ...

Re: Source for WSS French Uniforms

Nice figures! The flag is good too, it has the right effect and you can identify the unit from looking at it too. Not always possible with some renditions of French flags for units of horse that I've seen.

Thanks Andy, I did get some more photos of this unit, a little better, but still not great. Photography isn't a strong point with me yet!

Re: Diggers

Hi Andy, Nice work, I painted some modern British for a commission a while back and found the multicam tricky too. I've been trying to find tutorials on it, but nothing so far. I think the peak is that of a cap worn under the ECH as I couldn't see it as part of their kit. Don't know if this is any u...

Re: The guns!

Hi Chema, Credit where it's due, I took influences from a lot of painters on the LOA site. Barry's work, David Imrie, Bob Talbot, Dave O'Brien, Clarence Harrison and many others have all influenced and inspired me. That's what's so great about LOA, I've learned a lot here. Your work too Chema has im...

Re: The guns!

Hi gents, Thanks very much for your comments! Coffee stirrers are my new modelling friends Prince Henry. :D Gunfreak, with the way your painting is developing, I'm sure you'll be doing that before too long. I use washes and gentle drybrushing to build up the look on the guns, it took me a bit of pra...
