Poles - circa 1620 - 60

Guys,

Can anyone recommend a ruleset or two, with figures organised in elements, for warfare in the Baltic/Poland/Muscovy in the first half of the 17th century? Something simple, mind, and easily learned rather than studied and accessible for solo play.

I found Peter Fitzgerald's article in the new Spanish mag a good guide. He talks about the rise of the perfect figure and promotes the painting of good wargames figures. Worth a look just to read that bit.

I saw it a few days ago. I was impressed by the costumes and aspects of the spectacle but found that I was unmoved by almost all of the characters. I thought Braveheart much less relaiable historiaclly but forgave it a lot because it was such an engaging film. See this one for the costume and Scott'...
