I tried out Galleys and Galleons last week. Seems quite a neat set of rules. Not too complex, minimal book-keeping and with some subtleties to make it a tactical challenge. Yes thanks. Looking at them they are more for larger scale games but I will give them a go for my 5th Rates and smaller games. I also have Galleys and Galleons by Ganesha Games that look interesting and maybe aimed more at small actions with a few ships rather than fleets.

We tend to do the morale checks for melee loss and any rout / retire moves straight away so that we don't for get them when the compulsory moves comes around. (Only puts things out of order when there are multiple close combats going on.) AFAIK the routers do not get a "second" rout in the compulsor...
