Re: Battle of Aughrim Game - Use of Command Shot

The use of command shot should be very situational and scenario driven IMO. Aughrim is well documented that they were present for the Irish and gave a good showing. Over use of them and they become like Napoleonic skirmishers and several more (house) rules would need to be created to cover more situ...

Re: Battle of Aughrim Game - Use of Command Shot

I'm not sure about the final ruling for commanded shot but there are a couple threads on it if you scroll down. Based on those discussions they are single stand independent units on defend orders. They don't re-attach to a parent unit but if they did I would think they are just absorbed and don't in...

Re: 1st game

1: make the unit wiped out do his rout move first and then remove the unit. This is because the unit isn't really wiped out in place but destroyed as a fighting force so it would still run first, then fade away. The winner makes the pursuit roll normally and this situation you mention no longer beco...

Re: A new Range of Vikings!

Link isn't working. Steve painted my first few units of LoA figures from Dixon back in the 90's when I was living in England. Great work and has since started his figure line which are amazing as well.

Re: Shouting at the Telly (Man in the Iron Mask)

As retired Air Force all my friends hated watching movies like Iron Eagle or any other movie that depicted airplanes on which we had worked. They never got it right and was usually laughable in how they showed all aspects of the military. As for historical movies, when Braveheart came out I remember...

Re: Questions about Trotters-charging/shooting

Trotters can shoot their pistols whenever their card comes up, out to 8" inches. They get no reload marker. They are weaker in melee because they trot in vs the gallop, the reduced die is because of a lack of shock on impact.

Re: Perfect timing

My rules came this past week as well and after giving them a once over they are very familiar to me after playing VWQ as much as I have. I have some well painted Highlanders lying around that I will re-base as my first faction and go from there.

Re: Card Deck

Like Redmist above I use Power Point. Find a card template like this one and use a blank presentation in Power Point and past it in making sure you expand it to take up the whole page. http://www.houseofstirfry.com/chia/templates/playingcard8.jpg Then find a picture of the period online like this on...

Re: Which faction will YOU do?

didn't see an order for the rules from you, have I missed something or did you place it with Bob at LRS?
I will get mine from Bob. I still have a copy of the early play test version but will have the actual rules soon.

Re: Which faction will YOU do?

I have an idea for a faction. Something that nobody expects.....

DA, DAA, DAAAAAAA

The Spanish Inquisition!

ok so its a bit before the period but would be great for comic relief, sorta like the Halflings in Bloodbowl. :)

Joe
p.s. I dont have the rules yet either.
