Re: New Ebor Miniatures battalion

Tim: One thing, I hadn't noticed before, is that a particularly "Dutch carry" with the left hand actually gripping the musket? Anyone here know? Michael My previous post was a bit vague. I know that the "at the slope" holding the musket by the stock at the neck is commonly shown on both figures and...

Re: GNW Russian Guard Grenadiers

Tacitus: Bear in mind that the famous grenadier helmets of the guard were not introduced until 1712. Before then the Preobrazjenskij guard grenadiers had bearskin caps. I had not heard that (bearskins) before, very interesting. Thanks... Greg: That might open up using Ebor's bearskinned grenadier fo...

Re: GNW Russian Guard Grenadiers

Throwing this out again - any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Greg: I know a lot of converting is not ( at all ) popular like it was years ago. Of course those guys who used to convert Airfix 8th Army into Swedish pikemen (I jest) were what one might consider "needs must"! But you might ...

Re: WARFARE PERSONALITIES

Great question.. what does it depend on! I already have work in the bag from Clibinarium and he is working on new Jacobite Cavalry now. So.. onward and upward with WARFARE. Sales have been good enough for me to feel confident that we'll even get to the FRENCH in 2012.... real French! Barry: I reall...

Re: WARFARE PERSONALITIES

I am shocked some one reads what I post on TMP  :o I thought they just stifled me on principle because I am not a member of the WFP-enforcement division & prepared to speak my mind  Ginger Willingness to be candid can be unsettling to the herd... Re: Huguenots in Ireland 1690/91

Ray: Hi Michael, There is always some confusion between the English Schomberg Horse and that of the Huguenot Schomberg Horse at the Boyne. I'd go with the Grey coats with Red facing's for the Huguenot Schomberg regiment. Regards, Ray. Thanks for the history, I think that confusion sounds vaguely fam...

Re: Huguenots in Ireland 1690/91

As for Schomberg's Rgt of Horse, is the red faced blue uniform depicted on pp 78-79 in Campaign 160 generally accepted? Or is there discussion on same elsewhere on LoA? TIA, Michael Having taken the time a few minutes ago to read pp 78-78 more closely I now see that he is surrounded by James' Life ...

Re: WARFARE PERSONALITIES

Andy: What do the Highlanders depend on? Seriously, those look smashing. Keep 'em coming. Andy Evil Ginger responded to my similar query on a thread at TMP: http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=253031 I have yet to thoroughly look over the Spirit Games website. Any thoughts on this? BTW, I ...

Re: Huguenots in Ireland 1690/91

I'm currently painting up the same three regiments, modelled on what Barry painted and sold a while ago, they've all got dark grey coats, with blue, green and black cuffs, I did copy Barry's idea for the flags and made my own, which are here: http://onelover-ray.blogspot.com/2010/08/huguenots-flags...

Re: New Ebor Miniatures battalion

Tim: Hi all Happy New Year. Later than promised here are photos of my initial stab at the new Ebor range. Thanks for the images, I have two battalions of Ebor Dutch that I haven't gotten to...yet. Your images make me :D when I anticipate working on them. One thing, I hadn't noticed before, is that a...

>>Love the flags and the figures.<< Yes and after I regained my breath I noticed the detail on the stand itself. Just a minor little addition of "river rock" lends so much. Brilliant  Having seen Nick's (North Star) "1672" images via http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=252440 along w...

Thanks, so I wonder how one would Google something as esoteric as that sort of accessory? Luckily we have online fora for such inspiration and assistance

Barry: Thanks for the link to inspiration ... http://saxondog.blogspot.com/ Have a look at the brushmeister's work on the Blew Guards... part of a wee 'big' project we have going for next year! Any guess as to how he did the "green sprig" with the view to making it "wargames resistant"? I have thoug...
