Re: When did Spain adopt the flintlock?

Hello , Well I really don't know but I guess some units used Flintlock and others Matchlock, which was being slowly replaced at that time. It may be impossible to know :S and about artillery uniforms I have been searching information for years.. without success, So I paint my artillerymen blue coats...

Re: Stradiots and Javelin armed cavalry in TYW ?

The Army of Flanders kept lancers until 1640. The Stradiots were still around, but as for mounted crossbowmen I haven't found evidence of that. Re: War of Devolution 1667-1668... Uniform ideas?

Thanks for the Info! I knew some of the details about the Chamberga guard regiment, but it seems that the illustrarion is not correct, because the guard was dressed in yellow and red. I dont know why is coloured in red and blue in that illustration, anyway is a posibility. The problem with that war...

Re: Wanted: details of Spanish horse regt c.1680

Hi Ray,
You may be right, is too hot there, but the Moors used more cold steel weapons and armor than their Europeans counterparts I believe, so my countrymen may have used their breastplates for defense against cavalry lances or swords... both posibilities are right for me !

War of Devolution 1667-1668... Uniform ideas?

Hello mates, I have been thinking about expanding my collection and make some regiments or tercios for the war of devolution. Thinking about the miniatures in 28mm for the Spanish and Walloons my initial thoughts were a mix of late ECW miniatures (maybe Bicorne or Renegade) with some Front Rank's Mo...

Spanish Tercios parading in Madrid in front of the King 2017

2 Months ago, during the military parade of Spanish national day, some Spanish tercios of the Army of Flanders paraded with the rest of the army because of the 450 aniversary of the "Spanish Road" which linked Brussels with Milan bordering France. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpAH-Ybdi6A Cheers!
