Fort Sumter to Appomattox.

Slightly strange experience. Instead of going to New Orleans my wife and I decided to come to Charleston. I went on the boat trip to Ft Sumter and whilst walking around it struck me that I have now gone full circle , start to finish of the period that started me off wargaming more than 50 years ago!...

Re: Barry at Waterloo with GEEK NATION - PIX LINK

It's when you see a well done, large scale re enactment that you realise just how difficult it is to move large bodies of troops, never mind try and co ordinate them. even the slightest ditch, stand of trees, dip in the ground or hedge completely throws folks off . It must ...

Re: Stradiots and Javelin armed cavalry in TYW ?

Fully agree. Even warlord themselves say that the lists are only really a suggestion. I have no idea where some of their troop types come from. I use Swedes who appear to have skirmishing light cavalry included . I have no idea what they are. Nor do any of the other guys at the club. We use the list...

Do you guys keep a small army of painting slaves? I really like the clean, consistent style of your figures and the size of the games is always impressive. How do you manage it ?
As ever , excellent

Re: Blucher.. The Sam Mustafa one.

We've played 3 games now. Its worth going on the website, The Quatre Bras scenario is very good and a tough fight!. The rules are fairly abstract but seem to give the feel of a big battle.
Don't tell Barry but I still prefer RTE !

Re: Salute 2015

I enjoyed it to a point... Its actually too big. Too busy , and despite the size of the hall, a bit claustrophobic. Don't get me started on the backpack brigade and this year there were two guys with rolling rucksacks who should have to have them surgically removed from where they were told to stick...

Re: Multiplayer Command and Control Questions

In a multiplayer game we have the C in C roll and distribute the command. I like this way to cause the maximum amount of embuggeration, eh command and control representation !.
