Re: Schenckendorff Grenadiers

Superb figures and fantastic painting - really nice work. The basing is particularly nice and I like
the effort you have gone to with the background. Top quality.

Well done !

Re: Wss Danish Grenadier uniforms

There is some information in the booklet "Danish Uniforms 1699 - 1712" written by Torstein Snorrason. I think this is still widely available on the web but I am happy to send a copy if this helps. I also have some scans taken from an article in Feb 88 Military Modelling (Marlborough's Danish Troops)...

Re: Osprey Armies of GNW

Thank you for the heads up. This sounds promising but almost harks back to old school Osprey when they attempted to cover large and complex conflicts in a single volume. In this case, 48 pages to cover the armies of "Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Saxony, Prussia, Hanover, Holstein, Poland-Lithuania, Coss...

Re: Battle of Glenshiel - Swiss ?

Thank you - I must admit that I have seen the book advertised and its on the wishlist.... Helion are now putting out so much stuff that I want to buy that the wishlist far outstrips affordability ! Going to have to revisit my strategy of relying on a lottery win... Really nice to see so many books c...

Re: Battle of Glenshiel - Swiss ?

Thank you Dan, Looking at 'For Orange and the States' published by Helion together with the 'Dutch Regiments' website, it appears that the following Swiss Regiments (in Dutch service) were stationed in England in 1715: Schmid de Grüneck van Huningen Sturler de Chambrier My understanding is that they...

Battle of Glenshiel - Swiss ?

Good to see some interest and publicity about the 300th Anniversary of Glenshiel (even from the BBC !). Looking at the background to this campaign, I have seen occasional references to Swiss troops on the Government side: https://her.highland.gov.uk/monument/MHG7457 My understanding was that the onl...

They really look the business. Love the flags and nice to know that you can pretty much pick and choose
as so little is known about them (I certainly have !).

An excellent series (& great to see a publisher taking a more in-depth look). You might also be interested in this site which has a huge amount of additional uniform detail : http://www.bandieresabaude.it/index1.html Particularly : http://www.bandieresabaude.it/Bandiere03.html Cheers, Phil
