Re: British Regiments c.1704

Sure did, I had some around as it's the size I normally use for a couple of 28mm cavalry, and I like the extra space at the front.

Re: British Regiments c.1704

A crisp frost meant I could crack some varnishing outside and finish off two more stands. Can we keep the pro-unionist politics separate from a mutual love for toy soldiers? ;)

Indeed, in many ways, Sweden is to the rest of the Nordic countries what England (and the Home Counties in particular) is the to the British Isles    By the way, I've very much enjoyed that cartoon series. Here's a link to any who've not come across it before: http://i221.photobucket...

Thanks. I used Citadel regal blue with some ultramarines and then white mixed in for the highlights :)

I've found that each beverage is best drunk in its own setting.

Grøn Tuborg is particularly good after a rigorous horseback ride. Whilst Guinness makes for a great pre-bout drink :D

Each to his own

Re: British Regiments c.1704

Based on some information from Ray, the grenadier caps for North and Greys needed a little reworking. I also took the chance to redo the eyes: http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd141/jannerxi/18th%20Century/IMG_1450_zpsd913cd75.jpg Then it was onto the left flank companies of the 1st Regiment of Fo...

Re: Du gamla, Du fria

My Westcountry boy roots mean that Jutland feels very familiar. The effete and self important elites generally seem to be lacking, but, if I understand my Danish neighbours correctly, that role is traditionally fulfilled by the Swedes ;) That view is, of course, in no way endorsed by my Finnish long...

Re: Blenheim OOB

Thanks! I tried to hide the musicians - I need to add the lace on them - I believe they had swallow's nest and wide bands? Are they supposed to be in red coats? Ray, I have more, but I need to replace the flags - this blog has taught me the error of my sources (which caused me to wing-it a bit) - s...

Re: Du gamla, Du fria

For danes it's a Boing 747, as in a Boing 474 of danes. Nah, it's a hygge of Danes  For those outside the Nordic belt, Danes call all sorts of informal gatherings, from beach parties to after wargaming drinks, with the verb 'at hugge'. It roughly translates as 'to have fun' or 'to be cozy', b...

Given the probable high number of responses, 'our' vote doesn't increase, but support for the Crimean French option is going down.

So keep voting ;)

Re: Blenheim OOB

It must be guards week as I will also soon have an offering of the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards :)

Wonderful details - however, as a Royal regiment, I went for drummers in red coats?
