Re: Historicon 2013 ALL CHANGE!

The ACW does nothing but bring up bad blood to the hardcores, "My grand pappy killed your grand pappy! Thems fightin' words!" etc.

Run BLB :)

Re: My turn with a question

Clarify, units involved in an assault on a BUA do not count for order allowance. Makes sense just couldnt find a reference in the rules.

Re: BLB game today

Thanks for all the comments. The game had 4 different players that took over at different times. In the end it was Gavin and some chap who had explained to me his grand sweeping plan to wipe the French from the field. I just smiled and nodded. Though he won the game none of his plan ever left the gr...

Re: BLB game today

As promised. Here are pics of the game. The idea for the scenario was taken from CSG 'Scenarios for Wargames', Reinforcing a Town p.38 and loosely based on Battle of Landen (or Neerwinden). Our local game store puts on a 1 day event each year. It's primarily a 40k and card game tourny. We always put...

BLB game today

We had a local 1 day gaming even today. I ran a largish BLB game in a mostly 40k environment. Heres a picture someone took while I was setting up. I'll post more of the actual game shortly.

My turn with a question

We had a situation where inside a BUA were a brigadier and the CinC (King William). They both became casualties in the melee. Am I right that the 'garrison' checks morale at -2 for seeing the commander killed? (Or would each unit test individually? I went with garrison) Those outside the BUA wouldn'...

Re: The Dutch Blue Guard and a Papal Banner..

Found this: The battle of the Boyne was the decisive encounter in a war that was primarily about James's attempt to regain the thrones of England and Scotland, but is widely remembered as a decisive moment in the struggle between Protestant and Catholic factions in Ireland. However, recent analyses ...

Re: First game and many questions

You need a Rally Order marker to rally Routers, who will continue to move away from the battle every turn. You do not 'have' to rally them but they will not without one. Retreat units are tested each turn in the Morale Step, (no order required) they may calm down and return to battle or they may rou...

Re: First game and many questions

1. The green cavalry wants to charge the blue infantry. It has to charge the front of the infantry because most of its own front are not behind the front of the infantry. Where do I place the cavalry afer a succesfull charge? My interpretation is, that you just place it in front of the infantry. BLB...

Re: First game and many questions

Barry may over ride but here are my answers. 1. A charging cavalry unit receives defensive fire from a unit of foot. On what point does the charger halt/retreat when failing to charge home? (is he moved into contact an halts/retreats from there?) Chargers are moved to contact if defenders pass. Fire...

Faces?

How do others do faces? I've never bothered with my older eyes and with younger eyes I was unskillful. Currently I just let the dip shadow the face recesses. On a gaming table nobody really sees them anyway. But I think that officer class figures should be painted to a higher standard than the rank ...

How I paint horses

Since I requested this I guess I'll start. Many of you may already do this (and probably better than me) but this is the easiest way to paint horses that I have found. I learned it long ago and all my 15mm and 28mm horse I've painted are done this way. It's not speedy but you can do many in short or...
