The sculptor, Michael Percy, did some nice work for SHQ in 20mm in the past, but I must agree that while nice, it's definitely not up to the standards previously established by the Perrys and others for the Foundry. At the price they're advertising to US customers, they are most definitely not worth...

"Dolls House Wargames"... nice... Around here it's not uncommon to see people playing games (40K, FOW, WHFB among others) with unpainted figures on plain tables. Many of the historical figures that are painted and of recent vintage are usually products of overseas painting services. Most of the game...

Very nice painting!

PaulMc, most of those figures look to be the 15mm Dixon range if I am not mistaken. The Swedes & Russians in western dress for sure....

Speaking of disappointing books, I have a hard time reading any full-length book penned by George Nafziger. I have his three-book 1813 series and have owned "Imperial Bayonets" and his 1813/14 Italian Campaign book. Nafziger presents a great deal of information in his books, but his writing style is...

I agree with Martin... this is an excellent teaser for the full set of rules that I am anxiously waiting for. Having played several rules sets where both foot and horse can hide behind artillery and then move or even charge through them, the idea of having huge, impenetrable deployment areas for the...

Thanks much, Barry!

Your old Quick & Dirty articles are very good, and now that I'm trying to get back into 25mm figures, having quality, durable flags are a must.

I appreciate your fast repsonse!

Barry's Article on making cotton flags

Greetings,

I tried downloading Barry's article on making cotton flags and am getting a combination 404 Not Found/Permission Denied error. I had this article downloaded at one time, but have since misplaced it.

Is this article missing for a reason?

Thanks,

Bart

Republic to Empire Question(s)

Hello Barry, I'm sure you're busy getting ULB ready for publication... is there anyway you could post a taster for your RtE rules? I'm curious to know if you're going to use the 1:10 figure ratio you're starting to use for your personal troops, or if it will be a floating scale, etc. The larger unit...

While I haven't seen the rulebook yet, I've heard it costs $40 USD, which is about double what the old one cost me. Inflation plays a part, naturally, but I don't think I'll be dropping that kind of cash just to get a few more army lists. The cost of rulebooks now is astronomical. I've balked at get...

I think part of the issue is determining what kind of 'fanion bearer' you've got. The ones with the small flag attached to the halberd seem to be color guard types that surround the flag bearer (eagle for first batt, other flag for the rest). They would be in the middle of the company as you have op...

Hi Barry, New member here. I was going to suggest posting on the Napoleon Series forum but I see that you've already figured that out. :D My references at home are pretty dicey when it comes to fanion bearers... several of Scott Bowden's books (Armies on the Danube, Austerlitz) have diagrams of Fren...
