Re: Regiment Bois D'avid, Luneburg-Zell

there seem's to be quiet a few infantry standards in the Kuhn book which seem to be from the seven years war period. wondering if any one has any info apart from Kuhn on hanoverian standards of the wss. Once I started a discussion about Hanoverian flags on TMP forum and Lace Wars also. I've noticed...

light guns

I'm looking for pictures of 3- and 4-pdr 1680-1720 guns, preferably with scale showing it's real dimensions.

Cavalry - number of belts

Some time a go, I've started a thread on TMP forum, discussing number of belts worn by horse regiments. One can it read here: http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=300671 Generaly my question was: how many crossbelts should be modelled on LoA / WSS horsemen, how did it change in time and do ...

Re: TROPHEES DE LA GUERRE DE SUCCESSION D'ESPAGN

Literally it is an interpretation of Anna Beek and Spofforth prints, showing French flags taken by Dutch and English during WSS. If you are looking for flags and you already have Hall, you will find nothing new in this book. If you can read French, you will find interesting albeit short description ...

I've got it from Gallica and it has maps.
Generally e-books from Gallica always have maps.

Re: Pikemen at Fleurus

Many thanks for clarifying the matter.
BTW.
Is there any modern (post 1960) description of this battle available in German, English or French ?

Re: Pikemen at Fleurus

Thanks a lot Dan ! As I told before, the statement I've called "famous" has no source. For the first time, I found it ages ago in Polish language book, talking about weapons changes. I've also found a reference to it on different wargamers forums, including this noble forum. http://www.leagueofaugsb...

Re: Pikemen at Fleurus

Good point Dfogleman !
So far I thought they got rid of pikes in 1700, but my sources were very dubious.

Re: Pikemen at Fleurus

To some degree I think to have identified Saxon units which didnt have Pikes (abandoned 1683): Loewenhaupt and Benkendorff
The book I refer to (thanks again, Motorway) doesn't mention Saxon troops.

Re: Pikemen at Fleurus

If I would know what german troops were fighting under Waldeck in this battle I may be able to find something that helps eventually. They were from Brandenburg and Luneburg (later Hanover) only. And of course Dutch nationals. Thanks to Motorway I've got better copy of Waldeck's army OOB. Find it at...

Pikemen at Fleurus

It is widely known that in the battle of Fleurus in 1690, French noticed that pike armed Dutch battalions were easier to rout than all musket armed German units. AFAIK prince Waldeck's infantry at Fleurus consisted of Dutch national regiments, Brandenburgers and Luneburgers. Question is - which nati...

From Pike to Shot

I'm looking for decent descriptions of LoA battles. I know that that C.S. Grant's "From pike to shot" has them. I've got photocopies of some pages about uniforms (provided to me by a friend of mine in 90's when I couldn't afford to buy the book). Current price for copies of Grant's book at Amazon ar...
