Re: Austrian army, any good books?

For the 1809 campaign, but looking at the smaller German allied armies (or better divisions) look for "With eagles to Glory" also by Gill. I find it still one of the best Napoleonic books ever. lso a lot about the Tyrolean revolt

Don't worry Dave, we will not ask any rules question. I hope you don't mind that we will sent every one at the show over to you who has questions about uniforms, tactics, organisation, literature etc about this period.

Late 17th century tents

What type of tent were mostly used by the late 17th century continental armies; bell tents or wedge tents.

1690 French grenadiers headgear

Colour was a off-white (gris-blanc) sack (same as the coat it seems) and different (facing?) colour turban which sometimes later became leather/bearskin? ( en peau it is called) I ha...

Re: ALL OUTSTANDING WARFARE ORDERS SHIPPED!

Regarding the French, do you intend to mke seperate figures or go the "Front rank way" to make epaulettes to convert the figures into French?

Great to see you in Antwerp.

Recieved the figures saturday and they look great.
Haven't had time to compare them to my Dixons and Foundry .

Now just the French, more French, cavalry and etc.

Re: 1690 French regiment; how many flags

Sorry, have to say I was wrong (have to read more carefully I think but my french is a little-understatement- rusty). Every batallion de campagne had 3 flags. Although in some regiments (les vieux, du Roi and du Dauphin) each company (except the grenadiers) had a flag only 3 were carried by each bat...

1690 French regiment; how many flags

In "l'armee Francaise en 1690" by Belhomme it is stated, that each regiment had only 2 enseignes. This would mean that there were only two flags for each regiment. Does this means that if a regiment had 2 battalions there was ony one flag per battalion, or even if there were more battalions some had...
