Ray, a quick check to attempt to assist: diving into C.E. Franklin's recent British Napoleonic Uniforms shows the 18th Hussars as in brown fur busbies from 1809 through 1815. My KGL resources are rather thin, however the Mont-St.Jean 100 Days site (French) shows the 1st KGL Hussars also in brown bus...

Russian Brigade Commander

A recently finished a 'leader stand' for my Russian Infantry, nominally representing Col. Aleksey Aigustov, commanding the 2nd Brigade, 7th Division, in September 1812. Figures are 28mm Foundry, sculpted by Alan Perry. A bit of fun getting to paint a horse again--but lots of 'PBI' to paint yet. http...

That's an excellent question, John; and I'll look forward to the 'official' wisdom from Barry/Clarence in reply. When our group tried Clarence's introductory scenario, we did not spend MP's (e.g., 1 for 'Form' per usual unlimbering, + subsequent turns to reach the re-fitting 'area', etc.) or faff ab...

Barry, do you anticipate making the above described scenarios available via other means--e.g., as a download of a file stored here at the LOA site--or did you sign 'exclusive' contracts with both WI & WSS that would prevent alternate distribution? (Both are magazines to which I have long since ended...

1st Bn Moscow Infantry Regiment

Recently completed (with apologies for the hasty photos), the 1st Battalion, Moscow Infantry Regt. (1812). Same old boring Wargames Foundry 28mm Russians, sculpted by the Perry twins, and painted (mostly) with the newer Foundry Napoleonic Colours set. Flags are by GMB, new finials & tassels from Vic...

Just to expand the pragmatic aspect of the point slightly, see the Artillery Shooting Modifiers Table on p. 72, second line from bottom, "Target moving fast or dispersed***" - Reduce total dice available by 50%, and the notes below the table explaining that *** modifier applies to Charging cavalry, ...

Also depending on date and location, I would be interested. I have a small number of Russians, and units of British and French cavalry to potentially contribute to OOB filling . . . 8)

Thanks, John, and yes I'm happy to share details on basing materials: 1. Silflor Tufts - large (Early Autumn) and medium (Spring) sizes - 3-4 each per base; 2. Flock: a) Javis 'Hairy Grass' (Autumn Mix) & b) a mix of grasses from a Noch 'Sampler' pack, containing about a dozen varieties (length & co...

Did new additions join the range after the initial release? Barry, to my knowledge there were only ever the two 'packs' of gun crews available from Foundry--RN2/4 & RN4/8--comprising 8 total poses. I don't know the order in which they were released, sorry. (I received the battery as a 'unit', part ...

Guns for the Tsar!

With the help of time recently 'saved' from not commuting to work per usual, I managed to finish my first battery of guns in 28mm scale. These are Napoleonic Russians (sculpted by Alan Perry for Foundry); specifically the 7th Position Battery of bronze 12 pounders, with crew in 'Winter' uniform (hen...
