Re: 2O/21 AUGUST 2011 R2E WEEKENDER LUNDIN LINKS

What is the start time on Saturday?

I seem to remember 9 when I asked Dave at Claymore, but the 6 pints in the afternoon have clouded my memory somewhat :D

Re: 2O/21 AUGUST 2011 R2E WEEKENDER LUNDIN LINKS

Looking forward to this, although I have used up my store of brownie points for the forseeable future though  Apparently arriving at 8pm Friday, and leaving about 7.30am Saturday to get back Sunday night and then leave at 6am Monday is frowned upon :o Although the following weekend when she d...

Re: FOW How to Start?

I have more 15mm FoW stuff than I know what to do with.

There are various rules mechanisms that are a bit clunky/contrived but its ok. Its Igo/ugo so no opportunity fire which can put people off.

Its the game of the movie of WWII, probably the best description I have heard of it.

Re: Everyone OK?

being in central Manchester was interesting last night. Its just feral kids thieving but the police have there hands - by the left wing apologists and handwringers. The police are rightly concerned that the more robust policing of similar situations in the past will now see them prosecuted. 25 years...

Excellent as always.

I'll be starting my first Napoleonic horse unit shortly, hope they turn out half as good!

Victrix British Early Peninsular Cavalry

Interesting little snippet in the Victrix add in the latest WSS magazine 1808-1812 Light and Heavy Dragoons to be done in metal and available this 'Summer'. Has anybody seen any pictures? There is 1 in the advert, but the horse looks a little strange to my eyes, the rear of the horse looks like its ...

And to everyone who replied --- thanks for the kind words -- it took a while to get it all built but I am very happy with my "man cave". If anyone happens to find themselves in the San Francisco bay area just let me know --- gamers are always welcome :-) Hi Jay, so this is where you've got to? :lol...

Re: Paper Flags (UK)

I've tried to buy GMB flags several times in the past. And time its been a classic case of poor service/response. I don't bother now, just get all my flags from Flagdude. Always a quick response and good quality stuff, regardless of the time difference.

Re: 42nd and 79th

No problem. I have become an expert in British arm sprue combinations :) I know all the main combos without resorting to the box, think this was my 7th Victrix British box and all the arms are the same, only difference is flank companies get wings instead of tufts. This no doubt helped spead things ...

Re: 42nd and 79th

I think I was doing about 8 an hour, as there are 102, so ~ 12-13 hours. I usually only paint about 8 at a time, so never really considered the time involved in building entire units before. It was difficult to get motivated at times, and given the size of the Black Watch unit it took 4 boxes all to...

Re: Victrix Austrians

The plastics are the main reason I got into the period. Its such a cost efficient entry. 3 boxes of Victrix infantry and a few extras from Frontrank rough cost about £80 gave me 6 battalions of infantry. Off course I've added metals in the form of Portuguese infantry and cavalry and artillery from b...
