Re: Austrian cavalry help

Castings look nice, not too much flash will clean them up and undercoat them tomorrow (weather and wife willing). Also got the Austrian personalities pack, some very nice figures in there. Charging hussars have separate arms for more variety and separate carbines, could be fun gluing them together. ...

Austrian cavalry help

Ok cheeky question, Is there a plastic conversion (easy) to make austrian cavalry from any of the existing kits out there as i look at the price of the nice front rank units at 48 figures per unit and my wife starts reaching for the knives and as she has been a theatre nurse for 32 years maybe i don...

Um how to.....

Ok received my R2E today, thanks Barry, beautiful book and gorgeous photos.

At the risk of being flamed and sent to hell (or games workshop), are there any rules for battalion masse in there as my sources seem to indicate this was the preferred Austrian infantry tactic against cavalry.

Re: Austrians

Ty Mountain of plastic Gunter, wish the glue didn't set the wife's asthma off though. I can imagine the effect of a line of 48 figure battalions would have would look impressive as well :) Still trying to decide if i should include a mounted oficer in each unit and how best to do that if i do. So ma...

Re: Girandoni air rifles

Hmmm paintball gear, not sure victrix make them but i could convert a few with GW imperial guard headgear and face masks lol.

I am however finding this talk of air weapons fascinating, and had no idea about the Tyroleans using them so you may well be correct there

Re: Girandoni air rifles

Thank you Gunter, i was aware of that website, but conversely there are many reports on the web of Napoleon issuing orders that anyone found with one of these weapons was to be executed on the spot. Probably another urban myth that has emerged to embelish this weapons reputation. Thank you for the h...

Girandoni air rifles

Does anyone more knowledgeable than me (in this period that is everyone), have any information on the Austrian use of this weapon in action? Also I was informed that the Austrians may have been supplied with the baker rifle, but not sure if that was my friend winding me up or not. Yes Austrians are ...
