Re: PLAYTEST GROUPS - THE JACOBITE WARS

Hi Barry, Yes sorry, I jumped the gun and Pm'd rather than posting here. So am posting here now so I can follow the thread. Can't find the scenario in the warchest, and for some reason the weblink you gave doesn't allow me to download it and print it off from the magazine direct, so if you could pos...

Re: The brotherhood

Finally worked it out from the photo of the WSS plastics, Marty Feldman was the model for those sculpts, i recognise the haircut and bulboud eyes anywhere.

Seriously, made me decide not to even think of these figures even as unit fillers.

Re: New project

Slightly delayed as i got sidetracked back into LoA period by that notorious scally PaulMcC.

I will get round to the Swedes again though since they are all glued and organised ready to start painting on them.

How about a decent review of the WF figures please, are they better than the frog eyed infantry?

Far from an expert myself as far as i recall: 1. The Scottish guns were siege pieces, whereas the English had light field guns in the army, giving them a faster rate of fire and quickly silencing the Scots guns, also the Scots master gunners were with the fleet. The Scots also could not depress the ...

Going to walk and photograph the battle field this summer hopefully, went there a few years ago now with Paul McLauchlin from this forum, assuming the terrain hasn't changed much in the years one can clearly see the folly and stupidity in abandoning the high ground and how the Scots came to the stic...

Anytime Paul, happy to help

personally I like 1644, prefer them to WECW but haven't got my army anywhere near finished yet due to work and the other stuff that seems to come along. I need to finish them off though and then start the hunt for an opponent around these parts lol.

Hi Paulos, On Reading the rules 3 times to make sure i get it right, the mele is treated as one regardless of number of units involved, hence the rules referring to the side winning etc. If the royalist scum (oops sorry) sufferd more casualtied overall then they are the losers and take the consequen...

MAin differences are they now include new army lists for Marlburian (yes you read it right) pirates and elizabethan english so the idea being you can use the rules up to the Marlburian period, i wonder...

PBI is played using a grid system, you fire by and at grid squares rather than units, i bought them and don't like them due to that fact. FOW are quick and relatively argument free
