Martin,

Our tiny mole hills would probably look like the tibetan plateau if you were 28mm high !

Late as usual Bob, Barry was right, but so is Lindsay. If you are a capable painter and can produce linen flags like LOA, the research is there for you to do your own paint job. Personnally, I was using Napoloenic "Flags for the Lads" until I saw GMB. Needless to say its "GMB for me" Quick, excellen...

My Dear Colonel, I am somewhat bemused by your attitude to my comments regarding your monacle, considering some of the insults you have perpetrated on my honour. I would suggest a tad of hypocrisy in your comment Sir. If my comment really offended you, then it is true, THE PEN, IS MIGHTIER THAN THE ...

Martin,

If you can hire say Barr Stadia Developments on an "All work, no pay agreement" fine.

But seriously, look at the site suggested by Pappenheim in his Links above, it is interesting!

Senior Terroni, By the title of address, one can only assume that you are of Spanish origin. Yet another defeated people! I now of no Spaniard in my command, but it will not be too long before you are found out, and alas, the firing squad are much better shots than I! You should find a country with ...

Sorry to disappoint you Barry, I believe Pappenheimuk and his lads might though !

It does give food for thought, but I could not possibly aspire to such a spectacular piece of terrain !

Barry,

Downloaded this excellent material for my records.
It would make a truly magnificent centrepiece on any table.

Thanks to "Jutland" for his efforts and best wishes to "Pappenheimuk" and his groups endeavour.

Yip,

The Russians took their naval ordnance and crews ashore to defend Sevastopal from the land. The ships they scuttled as blockships at the harbour entrance.

My Dear Colonel, If you really think my cavalry were ineffectual, I would respectfully suggest one of two reasons for this. 1/ You had lost your monacle in the headlong flight into the woods, or 2/ You were that far into the wood you could only see the trees, and not what my Cavalry were doing as th...

Hi Lindsay, Read a couple of the Regimental Articles, and suitably impressed Sir! Being a descendant of a well known "Turkish family" from Motherwell, the Cameronians were my Grandfathers regiment, disbanding at the Regimental Headquarters in Hamilton, where they still have a Regimental Museum. My G...

My Dear Sir, I did not deny my gallant cavalry suffered at the hands of your Jaegers. Certainly the only opportunity one had was to meet fire with fire, unfortunately, as you say, you only had rifles! But to hide in the woods and take shelter instead of rushing my guns - now that would have been cou...

Prussian Jagers

Kellerman here, Basically, my orders were of a higher precedence than taking on this isolated band of bushwhackers. My cavalry did suffer repeated skirmish fire from these devils, but my Horse Artillety replied with devastating effect at close range. That made them keep their heads down for a while....

Hi, My understanding is that the basic Russian equipment changed very little from 1815 to 1852, so I see little problem in using field equipment and artillery from that date to represent models in the Crimea. I do, and the Hinchcliffe Russian ammunition caissons and ambulances sit well with Foundry ...

May I suggest "The Crimean War Research Society" An absolute mine of information and publications, and I would suggest probally the most accurate information available on the subject. Hi, Can't really add much to Barry's or Martin's comments here. Brittania are big and bulky, well out of proprtion and do not sit well alongside Foundry of the same period. However, I have picked out artilley and horse teams and merged these with the Foundry crews with some degree of success. The Br...
