Re: Facing Color for the 5th Foot?

Hi Raif, I found some more information for you, first of all the name of the regiment, in 1702 it was commanded by Colonel Thomas Fairfax and on 5th February 1704 it past on to Colonel Thomas Pierce. At the start of the WSS the regiment seem's to have been in Dublin, Ireland until the 22nd of May 17...

Re: Sons of Liberty

Hi Clarence,

Nice painting and basing, may I ask what make of figures they are???
Also what rules do you use for this period.
Have you managed to see the new Osprey rules coming out called "Land of the Free" by Joe Krone.

Best Wishes,

Ray.

Re: Facing Color for the 5th Foot?

Hi Raif, It might help if you stated which period you wanted the information for as the facing colour changed over time. The regiment did not become the 5th Foot until 1751 and would have been known before hand by the name of the colonel. Raised in 1674 and known as "The Irish Regiment" and from 168...

Re: WSS Dragoons

Hi Bernhard, I know this is a old post, but I don't visit the forum as often as I once did. At Blenheim in 1704 all 12 squadron's of French dragoon's fought dismounted defending a palisade next to Blenheim village. Another reason why they may have fought dismounted was because of the horse disease c...

Re: WSS British Artillery Uniforms

Hello again, There was no such thing as battalion guns for this period meaning that the artillery did not move forward with the infantry. There were Light gun's at Blenheim 24 x 3pdrs (16 of which were from the English train), but these were spread over the entire allied frontage stretching from Ble...
