Re: Blenheim OOB

Ray,

Yes, I can see that many have collaborated to keep this thread going.

Can you recommend some reading on Blenheim, please. Is Spencer's book any good? Stanford for OOB and info on the units?

Best Wishes

Re: Blenheim OOB

Ray,

What a marvellously informative thread - and great miniatures, too! Well done. Such a lot of hard work behind it all.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the replies. Foundry it is then!

I'm reading Royle's book at the moment and have the one by Fletcher and the Russian historian lined up. At Slaute I got hold of the 2 vols of Crimean Basics and one of the Ospreys. So ... enough to get me started.

Thanks for the interest.

Bob,

How might we find out more about the proposed new range of campaign types?

Bob,

Thank you very much for the info and the comments on the books.

Who are the guys who are thinking about a new range of figures for the war?

I think I might have (finally!!!!) found my war!!!!

Dear Thinredline, Thanks for the extensive reply! The Foundry range does seem quite full - given the little I know about the armies of the era! I see Osprey have about 3 titles for the British and Russians. Is their book on the French for the Franco-Prussion War any use for the Crimea? Are there any...

Dear Thin Red Line,

Am I right in thinking your figures for the Crimea are Foundry 25mms?

Do you know if Eureka do 25mm for this era?

Did you ever get a good enough set of rules to cover your big units?

Do you base in elements?

The range has expanded since my last post. A Palmyran range is on the way, too!

Guys, Additions to the range named above will be: a) 2 packs of mounted commanders, each pack containing emperor/general, trumpeter and standard bearer: b) Roman camels, including a command pack. I have seen most of the figures and am impressed. I admit to a bias since I have lots of the earlier ran...

Dear Barry et Clarence, I'd go for option 4 certainly. I hate downloading stuff that NEEDS to be neat and prescise and even more so when it depends on colour accuracy, too. I'd prefer to pay out for decent print job which can then be oggled at my leisure! So, my vote is cast! I will certainly subscr...

GNW Figures

Guys,

The GNW range by Musketeer Miniatures is well worth a look for those interested in this war. Some Swedes are out, more on the way and there are even a few Russians!

Romans - Severus to Diocles

Guys,

Check out the new releases from AandA miniatures. There are two ranges, both quite comprehensive and covering neglected eras in Roman history.

The Palmyrans are set to expand soonish, too!
