Re: 28mm telescopes

The officer in the Warfare artillery set is holding a telescope against his left hip. Don't know if this figure would meet your needs. Unfortunately not. I've got a Foundry Carabinier Standard Bearer I'm thinking of converting into part of the escort for GbD Blancard for 1815. A telescope in the op...

28mm telescopes

Does anybody know of a manufacturer that makes a 28mm telescope suitable for putting in a miniature's hand? Or do I have to sculpt my own out of brass rod and greenstuff?

Thanks!

Perry plastic and Foundry metal French Carabiniers

I'm working on a unit of 2eme Carabiniers for 1815. Based for RtE at 1:20, the ~414 men in three squadrons should be a 21 model unit, which I'm bulking to 24 (3 squadrons of 8) for visual effect. I got sucked into this by purchasing some Foundry metal carabiniers off ebay. Given the expense of Found...

Not a problem at all and thanks for the feedback. I couldn't decide how to paint it and just went with the metallic approach.

Thanks again.

Re: Osnabruck Leibgarde Regiment

The regiment served in Germany in the early years of the WSS, being at Landau in 1702 and the Stollhauffen lines thereafter. It was sent to Italy in 1706 and then Spain in 1708, meaning it wasn't at Almansa. It did fight subsquently at Balaquer, Almenara, Saragossa and Villaviciosa, though. So no s...

Re: Raising an Army

It looks like the figure has a drinking gourd in a cloth sling. They were not uniform issue. I've seen all kinds of colors for the drinking gourd slings. Most are natural leather. For a more exotic bag to put the gourd in, greens and light blues have been my choice. The Deux Ponts have examples of t...

I think the water bottle is not metallic.

Otherwise, he looks quite well done.

Re: Raising an Army

I think you've done a good job. Apply the same care to the bases that you do to the figures and you'll have a nice looking battalion. Do you highlight? That would be my only suggestion to improve. The backpack, greatcoat and trousers would pop with a highlight, though it may be the camera. I like th...

Here's your one stop shopping for the Vistula Legion: http://empire.histofig.com/Vistula-Legion.html

The plates should make things pretty clear. The only trick are the regimental distinctions, but the table makes them pretty clear.

I use Reaper 09062 Leather White as the shade, Vallejo 70820 Offwhite as the main color, and Vallejo 70842 Gloosy White as the highlight.

Many thanks - a video would be superb as would some indication of how easy it is to obtain decal paper> Look forward to it. JM Decal paper is quite easy to get. If you have a local modelling hobby store, they should have some. If not, there's Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Testor-Corp-9202-Decal...

Do you know which units still were in the old color uniforms in 1710?
