6th Battalions had yellow fanions, 7th (I believe) violet and 8th Sky Blue. The Warflag yahoo group has several example fanions for French infantry. They're often in the color mentioned, and embellishments like the regimental name and number, N's for Napoleon or grenades are often seen. GMB has Fren...

As a follow up question, does anyone have samples of his flags printed on "material?"

I'm lining up flag manufacturers for my Italians, Saxons and others not provided by Vaubanner, and I was curious at how the material flags turned out.

Thanks,

I think so.

Napitalia has a depiction of the Battle of Mockern on April 5, 1813. The OB for Berg's Russian Corps puts the Olonetz Militia Battalion and Volodoga Militia Battalion as part of his advanced guard.

Those two battalions are also part of Berg's Corps in May of 1813.

I believe some of them fought in the May 1813 battles as well.

Sort of, yeah. Right now, I'm working on assigning painting and basing priorities. My base assumption for regiments where I have a squadron count X and a number of men in the regiment R is to have X squadrons of R/X models. That way, where possible, my formations will be evenly sized. For both 1809 ...

Ok, so then how does one form a line "two squadrons wide," as the description of a cavalry line says. Same with the columns of squadrons? Do I even need to accurately represent the size of individual squadrons in a regiment, or should I just divide the total regimental size by the number of squadron...

Incredably dumb q - regiments or squadrons?

It's probably a really dumb q, but I can't seem to find what the maneuver/tactical unit is in RtE for cavalry. The formation and Barry's OB's for the Waterloo battle indicate that cavalry fight as regiments, but there are enough ambiguous references to squadrons that the situation is confusing. If t...

Thanks chaps - great response. Hadn't realised that Minifigs did such a large range. They seem promising but are they compatible with Perry/Foundry stuff do you think? Thanks again for all the replies. Minifgs have their own distinctive style, so I'm going to say they're not likely to be compatible...

Re: Napoleonic battery waggons

Can anyone suggest a source of generic 4 wheeled baggage/supply waggons, as opposed to army specific limbers/caissons with which to liven up French, Prussian and Russian artillery units. I would like to add a little depth and bulk to my batteries (although not to the visually impressive but suspici...

15mm basing and

I'm working up my 15mm armies to give RtE a go, and I think I've figured out most of my basing conventions. Infantry Figures: 3/8" wide x 1/2" deep per figure, based by companies where practicable Cavalry Figures: 1/2" wide x 1.125" deep (Old Glory horses need a bit more depth), based in pairs Artil...

I don't know about gifted, but Blucher was certainly hard to kill! How many other septuagenarians survive falling from their horse in combat with a brigade of cuirassiers, let alone are back in fighting trim the next day?

Rob, the easiest way round this is to make your 'character' figure the Division commander and assume the brigade has been delegated to a lower ranking officer. It makes no difference really. You MUST have a commander model. He is the one exerting the + 0 - influence on MPs. The brigadier model has ...

Officers commaning divisions and brigades at the same time

How does Republic to Empire model divisional commanders who were also directly commanding brigades at the same time they were commanding a division? When it's a single-brigade division (such as Guedin commanding his brigade and Grouchy's dragoon division in the French Army of Italy after Grouchy com...

I use the 25% linen paper such as are used for resumes etc. It gives good enough effect for me and more managable than silk paper. See the picture of my Walloon regiment flag in the 1660-1720 forum under the green coats discussion. Joe Flick, that's a pretty interesting texture to the flag. Does an...
