Thanks Kev and Adrian for another enjoyable weekend. And especially to Kev whose computer died weeks before the event and had to resort to Emmas crayons and Etch a sketch to prepare the battle maps. Maybe thats why the canal was fordable for the Allies and not the French! My day one against Andy's c...

I think adding limbers, wagons, baggage train etc all help with the visual effect of a game. They can also be useful for scenarios.

I've just finished painting an French Old Guard hospital wagon which was a nice change from the normal and adds a bit of colour.

Configuration of Foot regiments

Kevin and I enjoyed an excellent game of VWQ the other week and I'm now busy painting up my own forces. I'm interested in how you are all organising and basing up your foot regiments, especially as we end up having a LOGW ECW battle sometime in the future. I was thinking of 36 man regiments, 12 pike...

Another range of 28mm figures for the Napoleonic Wars is always welcome especially if they address some of the may gaps that exist in other ranges. The Calpe range of Saxons will be excellent I am sure if they ever get finished. I am personally waiting for the cavalry. There are really no suitable f...

I've been building up my Old Guard of late with wagons, ambulances and other general baggage. It will give Andy something to game with at the next LOGW game and us Russkies something to chase and cut up. Don't say I'm not considerate to my little brother. I've have about 250 cavalry and 450 infanty ...

Adrian , the TSS website is still open and they do list various new products. http://totalsystemscenic.com/ For Dark Ages buildings the best place to go IMHO is either Gripping Beast or Grand Manner. I know Dave Bodley has made a Saxon Great Hall but don't know if there is a specific Viking building...

The Russian Cossacks of the Guard have long been my favourite unit so its good to see them returning to active duty this weekend. I well remember them emerging from the woods and giving Dale's French a bloody nose in an earlier battle. Good to see them at those Frenchies again. Glad the weekend went...

Colin , good to see Katherine at her first wargames show at Claymore. She seemed to be showing particular interest in our 20mm Rapid Fire game!.
She should have won an award for youngest visitor.

I suspect that the criteria for judging differs dramatically from one show to the next which is healthy if somewhat difficult to predict. Keeps us all on our toes! Nevertheless it was still a great looking game wih lovely figures and terrain. Even though I am biaised towards any table that has Russi...

There is also the Cossack Clergy pack forom OG (COS-13) but most of the figures IMHO are in such strange stances as to be almost unusable.

Barry, I had been looking for this figure as well. So far I've only found the Foundry Cossack priest from their character set to work well with my Napoleonic Russian collection. I've a few figures from the Old Cossack wars range but they all require major conversion especially as most are in strange...
