Claymore...

Delighted to meet the man himself and a couple of the other reprobates from the forum at Claymore today. Always good to be able to put faces to names and noms de guerre at last. Beautiful examples of Barry's figures on show and the 'Titchmarsh' effect is even more impressive in the flesh! Full of in...

Re: WARFARE PRIVATE COMMISSIONS - WHAT INTERESTS YOU?

Same figures, but with karpus, would suit me fine... I love the randomness within the packs / units and that is one of the things I would really want to incorporate in my regiments.

Right or wrong, I still think the 'z' just looks totally out of place... :(

Re: WARFARE PRIVATE COMMISSIONS - WHAT INTERESTS YOU?

Barry, would be interested in GNW Russians, particularly Karpus / Kartuz hats.

Would it be viable as an alternative to just produce a range of karpus clad heads for existing figures...?

Killiekrankie, 1689

Forgive my ignorance if this has already been addressed... Does anyone know the colours for Cannon's Irish at the above? I would be interested in modelling the 'what if' of Dundee surviving the battle and the Rising succeeding in Scotland. There are a few accounts which say that many regiments stati...

Re: French Royal Flag/Standard - is there such a thing?

Plain white flag? And no, I'm not being facetious...

I think at one time it was a white field covered with small flyer-de-lis, at others a plain white field...

Don't know about Generals, but Sergeant-Majors always seem able to communicate no matter what language...! :)

Re: Wargames Factory WSS - Floppy Hats...

12 floppy hats with front brim turned up, 12 with two sides turned up almost making an unofficial tricorne, with small feather plume lying along along one side.

I have a few dozen of each unused...

Re: Russian GNW Standards

OK, thanks for that Tacitus. I was thinking of there being two 2nd companies, each with a star on the same coloured field, hence the confusion.

Re: Russian GNW Standards

Yes, I understand the differentiation between companies, my question is between battalions.

If ALL regimental colours are similar, how do you tell 1st battalion from 2nd battalion?

Russian GNW Standards

We have various sources telling us the field colours of different regimental colours, and we know the first company carried the colonel's colour, but the colour of the central device is unknown. Do you think it is a reasonable assumption to think the colour of the palm leaves changed between battali...
