Just like to add my thanks to ALL of the 'Gents' (and to others not there, but provided the kind use of their 'stuff') in making it a 'corking' weekend. Great weekend- great company. Highlight for me? Being able to have a shower at 'the Miggin's' on Monday morning. Mr. M was cussing until about 10.3...

Barry As the other chaps are giving 'orbats in', heres mine! 1 x Platoon (inc HMG, Mortars, AT's) 1 x 6lb gun 4 x Sherman(ish) Tanks 2 x Bedford Transport Trucks 1 x Halftrack By the look of the 'postings' on the site by my fellow Gents, it looks like 'Fritz' is going to get a 'GOOD THRASHING'- Lets...

Barry

I'll be there!

I'm planning to bring my newly painted Brits along with 'hardware'. Could you give an idea of the 'size' you're aiming for, for each player/command?

Thanks for the comments about the 'Ligny' buildings. I'll try and give (as best as I can) details and ideas, for how I 'painted' to achieve the 'effects'. If you had seen the 'game' at any of the national shows in 2008 or featured in 'Wargames Soldiers And Strategy' or 'Wargames Illustrated' recentl...

Gents Another great weekend of gaming and great company! Really enjoyed the pace and speed of the games. However......I seem to have been 'somewhat maligned' by the 'Nicholson Bros' with regards my 'conduct' in the game! As an 'Upstanding Lawman', just 'upholding the Law' I really don't see what was...

Peter/Gents Looking forward to meeting up next weekend. I'm planning to arrive around 5.45 (if the trains on time). With regards 'the Friday night game', would it surprise any of you that i'm quite happy to take on the mantle of 'Von Schiesten' the Camp (not in a gay way!) Commandant if required. Re...

Barry

I can't see the problem with Osprey's description of the French. Personally I don't think they go far enough!!!!!!!

On another point, lets get it right about the Prussians.....................!!!

Barry/Gents The 'transport wagons' have just arrived in 'East Prussia' and delivered the magazine at 'WH SCHMIDTS'. First chance for us in 'The Fatherland' to have a look at it. What a great job you did on it Barry! Must admit, I thouroughly enjoyed the article and enjoyed 'goose-stepping' down memo...

Guys With regard to the point about 'Froggie artillery fire' at the Ligny game, it was decided that due to the 'depth' of our Villages/Ligny (with Ligny itself occupying 6 x 4 ft) under the 'old R2E' most artillery could'nt even fire 'the width of the town'. So we 'ignored' it! Under the 'new R2E' h...

If we must! Count me in. I'm sure that with a little bit of 'tweeking' we could adapt the 'Ligny layout' to become Wavre. I'm sure that I could probably be able to 'knock up' a likeness of buildings to represent the farms at Quatre Bras as well! Hopefully pick up my copy of WSS over the next week wh...

Thought it was about time I asked the 'usual question' of .............can anyone give the dates for March and June 2009?

The November game date (subject to the Heugh not being sold), Andy has already 'posted'.

Just want to get my diary sorted for next year.

Thanks.

I've noticed 'the discussions' and queries about 'artillery rolls/dice'. Having played many times with R2E over the last few years, from a personal point of view, I have found 'the existing mechanism' for calculating dice based on 'calibre etc' to work very well and realistically. From a 'feel' poin...

Point taken Dave.

The 3 gents concerned were not 'kicked out/barred' due to 'bad behaviour' but were asked to leave because the poor staff at The Airlie did want to get home at some point over the weekend!
