Pat, A friend of mine here in Canada makes bagpipes. He specializes in re-creating old pipes. This webpage hasn't been updated in a while, but has some bagpipes he's made: http://www3.telus.net/public/stingle/music/woodwind.html One thing that he has mentioned in passing is that it is often hard to ...

Regarding bagpipers . . . you could possibly have them in some of the Dutch Regiments since they were a popular instrument in the Low Countries. Indeed, bagpipes have been popular for centuries all over the world. As for the Dutch, artist Pieter Bruegel the Eldar had a number of paintings featuring ...

kiwipeterh, Golly, I've been using PayPal for many years . . . so I'm not sure . . . but I THINK that you are correct. Go to their website to be sure: https://www.paypal.com/ I do know that in all the years I've used it, I've never had any problems with it. It certainly makes online purchases easy ....

I've got no problem with Dan's suggestion. My quibble was with the "Horse and Musket" part of the name since so many just automatically think of Napoleon. I will say that perhaps Eugene's fights vs the Turks should probably figure in there at least as much as Louis . . . but not many are familiar wi...

Barry,

Do you have an idea yet as to WHEN "Beneath the Lily Banners" will be available?

Any idea yet of what the price will be?

Will you take PayPal payments?

What shipping costs might be to those of us in North America?

Any other information we might want?

I can't say that I'm thrilled about the name . . . I suspect that a lot will identify it as later since many equate "Horse and Musket" with Napoleonics. Anyway, I'd suggest that Barry might want to join . . . it seems to me that it would be a good place to tout his "Beneath the Lily Banners" when it...

Just a brief bit of a thought . . . Finding "Beneath the Lily Banners" in a list of game titles will take a LOT less scrolling than finding "Under the Lily Banners" . . . so this name change is a definite plus. Besides, now there won't be confusion between ULB4 and BLB. Have some great Holidays. -- ...

Barry,

If you "disappear", we will all presume that you're off to the North Pole with a stack of rules to fill our Christmas stockings . . . at least that's what we'd like to have happen.

Barry,

That's very good news. Hopefully there will be some way to get copies to Canada without having to pay a fortune for shipping.

*grin*, I remember a certain hobby-related company advertising a product as "available in you local hobby store" seven and a half years before it was finally written. I know that ULB isn't "available in my local hobby store", but I'm happy to know that it won't take until 2015 for it to get written....

I've always preferred thicker bases to thinner ones for a couple of reasons. But one is something that most people don't think about. A thicker base is safer when transporting toops. They are far less likely to "slide" over each other. I've seen thin metal bases litterally chop horses lets off after...
