Re: Uniforms in the Irish Campaing 1690

Pete, your models and flags are GREAT, wonderful. Thank you a lot for your help and offer.

Thank you, Ray. This is the book I have, and, finally, I´m going to paint my Antrim´s in this way; perhaps, with one of the officers in red.

Cheers,

Juan

Re: Uniforms in the Irish Campaing 1690

Thank you very much, Andy. I was also thinking about the "personal impression" of the painter and the grey coat.
So I´m going to paint them in grey with red turns but with the officers in red.

Again, thank you a lot.

Re: CAN NOW BE PRE ORDERED

It is interesting to see that Marlborough is not an absolute "Star" for all of you... (where is the "shieldwall" protecting British "products"?). I think he was a very clever man of his age, able to change his coat in the right moment but able also to command an international army (something very di...

Re: Garrisons

Thank you very much, Jim.

I have found in page 62 the answer for one of my questions. The morale rating of a Garrison is that of the best of its units. Perfect.

But... Why the Garrison utilize the quality of the best unit for purpose of fighting?

Uniforms in the Irish Campaing 1690

Hello. The wonderful BLB 2 rulebook, the very good models from "Warfare Miniatures" I expect to buy and the colorfur of these armies (that have a full complement of Guards units  ) have made me to begin (at last) this project. I am painting, at the moment, the Earl of Antrim Regiment for th...

Garrisons

Hello. I am reading the chapter of "Fighting in Built Up Areas" of BLB 2 and I have a doubt about the Garrisons. In page 59 you say that all the units garrisoning a place are "The Garrison", a single entity. But, with wich Quality? In the example on page 64 there are the Scots Foot Guards and Mackay...

Re: Paper Flags (UK)

I have just received my "Flag of War" order, and their are very, very good flags; I´m very happy with them. I have also a pair of flags from "Reiver Casting", and they are not of the same size (all of them are for 28mm models). I would like to know the correct size of flags for these models. Cheers,...

Re: F.O.W. and Wargames illustrated

That´s the idea: The Pacific. Their Vietnam supplement is very interesting, but limited, in my opinion; Vietnam is a very good period for a skirmish game.

On the other hand, FOW has revitalized the Wargames Illustrated magazine.

Re: CAN NOW BE PRE ORDERED

Certainly, the War of the SPANISH Sucession has become the War of Marlborough. I would like to see the WSS supplement, of course, but with a lot of information and games about the war in S pain :D Almansa 1707, by example, is a very interesting battle fought between two very complex armies (without ...

Re: The thorny subject of GUARDS

Ray, sometimes it is not a question of "other gamers will not want to do the research to find historical OOB's for their own forces". I like to refight historical battles, I prefer them over all the other options but I also want to paint the models - and the units - I like. With this period I have f...

Re: The Road to Perdition

I don´t understand why I can not put a full Brigade of Guards on the table if my opponent is OK and the game is balanced. Guards are, generally, the most smart troops I can collect and play with, so it is not a sin to use them; we are warGAMERS. "Wonderful stuff" from Perry Miniatures? Wonderful? A ...

Re: The Road to Perdition

Hello, Jim. Your units are of a GREAT quality, with a very clean look. I´m not sure about their compatibility with the Front Rank range. I have models from both manufactures (and I´m also waiting for new packs from Copplestone!!!) and they are of a very different size. Do you know if Warfare Miniatu...

Re: WARFARE MINIATURES 28mm LoA RANGE

Barry, I am one of those customers, of course!!! Thank you very much for your quick reply. I am finishing the reading of the Rulebook (wonderful work) and making plans about the units I want to have so I would like to have access to a complet range of models like this one (Warfare Miniatures). Next ...

Re: WARFARE MINIATURES 28mm LoA RANGE

I beg your pardon because this is not the place to put this reply but I am not able to see the "Williamite War" flags in your page.

On the other hand, Barry, have you plans for more models in the poses you have already planned (this is, a second pack of "musketeers in hat marching", etc.)?
