For those that are interested (and don't already know), the BBC has re-done 'War & Peace' as a 6 part TV series. It is due to be screened next year. From memory there were quite a few battle scenes in both the original book and TV series so might be quite interesting to see how they've been done and...

Just received my copy of 'The Arquebusier' and found that there was an article on the decline of the pike in the English army by Nick Dorrell. There is documentary evidence up to 1707, but it mainly depended on the theatre of operations when they were withdrawn according to this (and previous) artic...
