Re: BLB1 vs BLB2

BLB1 simple, fast play, rules open to interpretation and can be aggravating if you like to be told how to handle every situation. BLB2 medium difficulty, rules more defined with additional information on gaming GNW and painting figures. Both are labors of love, well supported here, fun to play and g...

Re: BUAs

If you are within the 5" ZOC no you cant. Your men are mustering up into assault formations and getting ready to attack. By the rules those outside of the ZOC can return fire with modifiers. A smart defender will have troops nearby so he can feed men into the BUA to replace any you have killed. Doin...

Re: BUAs

OK Mark after reading both the shooting and fighting in BUA sections the answer is yes, and no. Part of your answer can be found on page 63. If you have units within the 5" ZOC they must either assault or withdraw. If assaulting they cannot shoot. Units outside of the ZOC may act as they see fit, i....

Re: Moan!

I love this period. Hmm Waterloo... Isn't that where Napoleon tried to delay the inevitble? Pointless debate, history would have played out as it did anyway. Interesting battle though.

Re: (yet) some more Qs

Hope these help. 1.If you give a Defence Against Horse order. Does it continue in effect until you change it with another order, or do you need to use an order to renew it next turn? Defense against horse is a formation and not an order like the Defend order. You need to give a Form order to the uni...

Re: charge and rout

Am I right in thinking then that they do NOT roll for morale in that case in the next step of sequence of play? Correct, they do not need to check morale as they are already routing due to losing one bound of melee. They can check in the next turn morale phase provided they are still around and hav...

For painting they are too small for my taste but on a great table like that they fit the part. 6mm does make battles of thousands look awesome.

Re: Battle of Staffarda

When I put this battle on at a convention I didn't find OOBs either. I just did some math on the Wiki from the size of the forces. That gave me a ballpark figure of Sqdn/Battalions to build from. Then I researched the armies and battle online to create the units. The French were outnumbered but did ...
