Warfare Miniatures and Dixon Miniatures in the Same Unit

Has anyone mixed Warfare and Dixon figures in the same unit? I have a random selection of Dixon miniatures and want to mix them with Warfare miniatures rather than order more Dixon figures to complete units. I have nothing against Dixon figures but I'd rather put money into lead rather than postage ...

Re: Crisis 2011

Hello Patrick R,

Can you tell us more about the surviing portions of the Ekeren battlefield? I think that it is one of the more interesting battles of the war; howver, there is very little coverage of it in English. The French surprise and Dutch recovery would make a very good game.

Looking for a Uniform Type

Does anyone know of any manufacturer who makes French Hussars or Chasseurs in the 1801 style shako with the mirlition flamme? I think that it is also sometimes referred to as a turbaned shako? I'm looking for 25/28mm figures, hopefully compatible with Eureka.

Thanks.

Re: War of the french revolution

The Eureka French Revolution prices will burn but the quality of what you get is a nice salve for it. Many manufacturers are going through the same pinch. I've just resigned myself to living with smaller, higher quality armies composed of the best figures for their periods. This is just my two cents...

Re: Carl Vilhelm Drakenhielm uniform

I'm not sure how much wear and tear it got afer 11/29/1718. Was it buried with the soldier or was it preserved elsewhere?

Re: Robert Hall plates for the period

Barry; Sorry if I implied that your questioning of Hall was inappropriate. I agree that the opposite is true. Sources and works need to be discussed and questioned. I only wish that discussions of this nature all took place as civilally and constructively as they do here. With respect to Kirke's reg...

Re: Robert Hall plates for the period

I think that Hall does a very good job in his research overall and has certainly opened up new sources of information for his work on the French army of the period. Like any scholarship, better information may be subsequently found, or, particularly with respect to arcane matters such as miltiary un...

Unfortunately, I can't make it. Hopefully someone will take lots of photos as the Stolne Wall Group games are always top shelf.

Re: WARFARE MINIATURES 28mm LoA RANGE

Barry; Where do we pre-order? I thought that I saw something posted but now can't find it. Also, your catalog shows 3 firing grenadiers and two with grenades. Your grenadier stand on the workbench appears to show a grenadier standing at ready. Will you have addtional grenadiers or is that a head swa...

Re: Triples

Gentlemen;

Thank you for all the replies and I regret missing Triples. Unfortunately, health issues kept me confined to the hotel room when I wasn't actually working. I look forward to getting out to a show the next time I'm over.

Thanks again.

Triples

Is anyone going to Triples this year? I'm from Houston but will be in London over the weekend. If people from the Forum are going, I'll make the trip to Sheffield; otherwise, I'll stay in London and do touristy things.

Thanks.

If you are not serious about your commander's names, "Honore Pamplemousse, Comte de Chenile" would be different. It loosely translates as "Honor Grapefruit, Count of the Doghouse." The name is based on my favorite breakfast fruit and where I spend much of my time at home. Good luck with the naming.
