Re: Carronade.

Another very enjoyable show for me and frankly just the right size of show. Big enough to have good variety of games and traders but small enough that you don't have to fight your way through throngs of people at the B&B, food and traders stands. Great to see everyone again. Our VWQ ECW game (Claren...

Re: SALUTE: WAS IT JUST ME OR.....

Now guys I really do have to jump in her and defend the Texas Renaissance Festival which is a wonderful event and one I took many friends and family to when they visited us in Houston. I defy anyone to prove to me that the young ladies dressed in their chain mail bikinis were not historically accura...

Re: 16/17 June 2012 - English Civil War

Adrian was to have been organising but now he has gone all academic and working on pension qualifications so he requested a postponement. And we all thought he was full time wargaming and scenery building! The Derby weekend looked excellent. Ade did suggest we play Napoleonics but with Borodino our ...

Re: 16/17 June 2012 - was English Civil War - now WWII

To confirm our discussions from the Old West game weekend. Our June game will now be WWII Disposable Heroes 28mm. Adrian has taken a note of the figures we can all supply so iot looks like we have more than enough between us (what a surprise) withough having to add anything more. If Barry can supply...

Re: 17th/18th MARCH 2012 - WILD WEST

The Can Can dancers are mine. I just purchased and painted them for this game to add some more colour to the saloon. They are made by Knuckleduster who also make some other great bar room figures as well as three excellent hitching horses.

Re: 17th/18th MARCH 2012 - WILD WEST

Hidden amongst Bob's pictures is one of a shotgun template, hovering over a group of figures. The shotgun is being fired by James Jones one of the kid heroes of the Jessie Jones Gang, my posse for the day. Underneath the template are five figures, two little injuns from Adrian's posse and three lawm...

Howdy pardners,
I will be there for 7pm. Set up shouldn't take too long once the tables are all out.

Re: 17th/18th MARCH 2012 - WILD WEST

I discovered the Knuckleduster range of figures so have been painting up a few of these for our game. They are mostly bystanders, saloon occupants, horses at the hitching rail and other stuff that is totally unnecessary for our game but will add some visuals. And then I found a box with about forty ...

Re: 17th/18th MARCH 2012 - WILD WEST

All quiet on the LOGW pages for our next weekend. Just thought I would post something to say if anyone needs figures for their posse let me know as I can probably help. My car will be full of Old West real estate so hopefully it will be another highly visual weekend. With Barry and Dave O not availa...

Re: 17th/18th MARCH 2012 - WILD WEST

I am personally flexible on the dates. This will not be in Stonehaven as the Heugh Hotel is up for sale and subject to planning permisiion will be sold as a Private house. So It looks like we are back in Kirriemuir.

Always best if the date can accomodate as many of our regulars as possible.

Re: NOVEMBER 19th/20th 2011 Vietnam

We had US Army , USMC, US Special Forces and ANZAC's. In the Long Road South supplement the ARVN have the same stats as the US army. I am sure we used some of the ARVN figures I had for a Rifle Platoon so technically they were there !

Re: NOVEMBER 19th/20th 2011 Vietnam

Well guys another LOGW weekend is over. I must admit to a certain amount of trepidation going into this weekend. Although I own a bucket load of models, terrain, figures, boats and helicopters for Vietnam I had never played anything other than a brief skirmish game in the period. I had also never tr...

Re: NOVEMBER 19th/20th 2011 Vietnam

Sad thing is I have a 1/48 scale Italeri Chinook kit which I have started but not yet finished and as I am in Houston this week there is no chance of it being finished on time.
Still, we will have plenty of other helicopters available!
