Re: Gripping Beast Saxons

The Dark-age warriors do very nicely for Saxons and will take head & so helmet swaps with the Saxon Theigns. The only let down is that all the Dark-age warrior heads are bareheaded so you get no pygian caps & you will have to swap the supplied medium shields for bucklers if you believe the buckler h...

Re: Donnybrook - miniatures.

The Zombies are reactive & you never know how many you will get as any piece of cover might contain them. as for figures I have on the painting table 120 Mantic Zombies 30 Mantic Ghouls 20 GW Zombies and about 20 conversions using bits of Wargames factory WSS infantry to give them more of a late 17c...

Re: Gripping Beast Saxons

1 Yes both are the larger end of the 28mm scale

2 Yes thought you might want to swap the shields which are medium for small or bucklers if you believe the bucklers hypothesis for very early Saxons

Re: Warfare Miniatures Flag Sizes

Barry & Clarence likes their big flags, I think they can be had a more in scale size if you ask for them

This came up when the flag sheets where first mooted as I recall

Re: Donnybrook - miniatures.

Have a look at the Dixon range as some of his figures fit in nicely and would give a more informal look especially to the pike men. I used them to ad numbers and more variety to French own Militia. I also believe front rank do some armed civilian types but I have not seen them in the flesh. G...

Re: Donnybrook Quick Question

I would think a couple of the existing battalion - squadron packs would make a fine force for several of the factions thought the range is short on out & out civilians at this point

Re: A little help with French Uniform Color

The exact colour is a bit vague to be honest but appears to have been a light silver grey perhaps with a slight blue hint. I would however not worry at all about the exact shade since it would have drifted from that within days of being on campaign. I tend to mix the colour when I need it and to do ...

Re: WIP - Raifs first WSS Figure

Given its an officer & officers could and did wear quite what they liked it could be any regiment of your choice. Uniform regulations such as they are are for the other ranks. As to conman Dutch colours I would go for grey of the sort you would associate with the confederacy for the uniform and red ...
