Not historical but at least I'm painting.

Liegnitz 1760

I made a little blog, don't expect anything professional, to record some of the games we play. Most recently was a what if scenario for Liegnitz.

Re: A couple of queries about BTLB2 rules.

Question #1; I don't think there is a rule so feel free to make a house rule. I personally wouldn't give them much of a chance to return depending on their morale grade and that of their pursuit. Money can be made by capturing important figures but by the same token higher class troops are more moti...

Mousquetaires de la Garde are my favorite French horse unit and you have done them justice.

Re: GNW Swedes - first painted production code

I lived near Newmarket in the village Exning above a pub named The Jolly Butcher (no longer open) from 94-96, I wish I knew some of you then. Glad I know, and met, some of you now. :)

Re: Your suggested rules

I too played KK before this new version, 3 I think, and enjoyed them then. AoR was my first set and it is a hodge podge of various rules and ideas poorly researched but seem to be a favorite of many. I never played the WRG version but I do have them. I tried Angus' set, Krieg Kunst, but he seems to ...

Your suggested rules

What rules set do you like and find best replicate the WAS and SYW? Consider 15mm 18-24 man battalions, 12 man horse regt. Don't want fast play nor interested in Empire like complexity and math gymnastics.
Thanks for your input

Re: Flank attack - stand and fire

Hi, Yes units can only shoot straight ahead but as long as any part of the target unit is in the 'box' it can be shot at with all stands. See Pg 5 photo, had that horse unit had any portion inside the shaded box it could be fired upon by unit A. The turn a stand to face a flank attack is to give the...

Re: Pursuit after Cavalry melee

I'm not sure where the argument lies or you missed my point. These rules are years old so I wouldn't expect an update anytime soon but they are popular in certain circles. Unfortunately the rules are vague on this point. I gave my solution and the rules author agreed. You are free to add a written a...

Re: Pursuit after Cavalry melee

Hi, How you play this is going to come down to your and your opponents experience. The rules are simple, fast-play and unfortunately not written for detail on every situation. There are many ways you could play this out and this would be a very long post if I tried to go over each one. Here's a coup...

Re: WSS Dutch OOB and morale grading

Hi Carlo, Well you're headed in the right direction because it comes down to research. How did a unit perform historically to give it a BLB rating to match? I'm not versed in the Dutch army but I'm sure others are and will chime in with better info. Most of the Dutch troops are going to be rated dri...

Re: LoA/NYW Flags

This is a good site to start with. He put a lot of work into these flags and covers most units. Not all flags are from the LoA period but in lieu of buying flags these work wonderfully. http://www.drapeaux.org/France/Ancien_Regime/Infanterie.htm This thread has additional information http://www.leag...
